A powerful reminder of exactly why today matters - bringing golfers together, raising awareness and supporting the charity’s vital work.

It’s a glorious morning in York, with the opening round of the Prostate Cancer UK Big Golf Race Major now well underway.

It’s the Big Golf Race Major day at Fulford Golf Club ⛳️🏌️

It’s a 36-hole shotgun start across one of England’s finest inland venues, which is in incredible condition, all while raising valuable funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

Day 2 of our South Wales Swing takes us to Machynys Peninsula Golf Club.

Following yesterday’s opening event at Tenby, the Tour moves from a course rooted in the 19th century to one of the youngest in Wales. Machynys opened in 2005 as the first Nicklaus-designed course in the country, with Jack and Gary Nicklaus behind its 7,121-yard modern links layout.

Set on Monk’s Island beside Carmarthen Bay, the course has already staged four Ladies European Tour championships and four R&A championships.

From Tenby’s traditional links to a modern Nicklaus design, a very different test awaits on Day 2.

Our South Wales Swing begins at Tenby Golf Club, the first of four venues on the Tour’s journey through the region this week.

Founded in 1888 and widely regarded as the oldest golf club in Wales, Tenby began as a nine-hole course before five-time Open Champion James Braid was commissioned to extend it, with the 18-hole layout opening in 1907.

The links runs through the dunes beside Tenby South Beach, with views across Carmarthen Bay towards Caldey Island. The course is showing the effects of a remarkably dry summer, with firm, sun-baked fairways bringing its natural contours and the running game even further into play.

A historic and distinctly links beginning to four days of golf in South Wales.

The second and final stop of our two-day swing takes us to Cavendish Golf Club in Buxton.

Opened in 1925, Cavendish was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie after the Duke of Devonshire commissioned him to create a new course in the town. Remarkably, the layout has retained virtually all of the features of MacKenzie’s original design.

Seven years later, MacKenzie would go on to design Augusta National alongside Bobby Jones, with Cavendish now closely associated with many of the design principles seen in Georgia.

After beginning at Prestbury yesterday, a fascinating piece of MacKenzie architecture brings our two-day swing to a close.

Our latest two-day swing began yesterday at Prestbury Golf Club in Cheshire.

Founded in 1920, Prestbury is home to a Harry C**t-designed course, with all 18 holes officially opened for play in 1924. The layout makes full use of the site’s significant changes in elevation and sandy subsoil.

Prestbury is also ranked inside the NCG Top 100s England, adding another notable venue to this year’s Tour schedule.

A fitting opening stop before the Tour moved on to Derbyshire for the second and final event of the swing.

Berkhamsted Golf Club was founded in 1890, with two-time Open Champion Willie Park Jr laying out a nine-hole course over Berkhamsted Common.

Harry C**t then extended the course to 18 holes, before five-time Open Champion James Braid redesigned no fewer than seven holes. To this day, the course features no man-made hazards.
