When the photos are up, the medals are through in the drawer, and the adrenaline has worn off.
Everyone has said there bit, either “well done" or "your not wise" etc
And now comes the part nobody posts about
We’re walking down the stairs sideways, sitting on the toilet has become a calculated risk, and if we drop something on the floor, well it lives there now 🤣
The unspoken suffering of DOMS after a big event, that suffering we have to endure, as if tie events themselves aren't enough 🙈
Yet give us a few days, and we are back trigger happy, somehow convincing ourselves its great craic to sign up for another one.
We’re a strange breed 😜

Sunday nights always have me thinking on my life 💙 am I the only one who does this lol?
To some people, this probably just looks like me running around doing stupid stuff.
But to me, it’s so much more than that.
Every bit of blood, sweat and tears over the years, has helped craft me into the person I am today.
This isn’t just something I do, and it’s definitely not something I take lightly, this is my life.
My training, my thoughts, my sleep, my nutrition, everything points towards being able to perform to the best of my ability, and to get the most out of myself.
But even more than performance, it’s about having the ability to switch on when it matters.
To face whatever task is put in front of me and get it done, regardless of how my mind feels, how my body feels, or how badly I want to stop.
I’m not the fastest, nor am I the strongest man around, but you can bet your ass that whatever I take on, I’ll be hanging on in there for dear life until the very end.
I don’t train because it’s easy, I train because doing hard things has changed me.
The medals and finish lines are just the visible part.
The person being built through it all is what really matters.
And the beautiful thing about it is, you have the potential to do whatever you want to do also.
You may not want to do the same things I do, but whatever it is you fancy you have the ability to do it, ya just have to make the decision and stick to it.

Event number 2 done 💙
Ballymena Rox, 1:25 today after picking up a 5 minute penalty.
The sled push was an absolute shambles up there today. The mats were crumpling up so bad, it was like pushing a bulldozer.
They decided to take weights off the sleds but the one I was pushing hadn't been reduced 🙈
Just my luck, my legs got completely emptied and where lit up like a Christmas tree at that point, especially after yesterdays antics.
At that stage the time I wanted went out the window.
But sometimes a race isn't about everything going perfectly, it's about how you respond when it doesn't.
I managed to pull myself together, keep moving and give absolutely everything I had right to the end, the tank was well and truly emptied.
Highlight of my day, was having my Hyrox coach Mark there as well as the support from other All Stars team mates.
He kept me right when I needed it today, knowing exactly what to say and when to say it. Whether it was to pull back slightly or to push forward, and just general encouragement that we all need when in the pain cave.
I took so much from today's SIM, that I've came away happier than if I had of just blasted through it with no issues.
I've worked with Mark or a while now, and I genuinely don't think I've ever met a more humble coach.
No ego, no need for recognition, just someone who genuinely wants the best for the people he coaches. He's been absolutely brilliant with me and I'm very grateful to have him in my corner.
Thank you brother, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed 💪
Not the time I went there looking for today, but strangely I'm probably more proud of how I responded when issues arose unexpected.
Two Events, Two days, Job done 💪
As always the glory goes to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, for giving me the strength to be able to do what I do 🙏

Event 1 done ✅
Rathlin 10 Mile — 1:22 with around 1,300ft of climbing.
That was an absolutely brutal course and definitely not for the faint hearted 😂
I heard people say it was the toughest 10 miler they'd ever done, and thought they where over exaggerating, but no, they where teelling the truth 🙈
The hills just kept coming, but got the head down, suffered and got it done.
Now time to recover, refuel and get ready to go again tomorrow.
HYROX Solo up next 🔥

A wee double whammy this weekend 👌
I've got a good Hyrox block in so hoping I'm not crippled after Rathlin 🙈
Sometimes I wonder why I do these things, I need to stop being trigger happy with the online bookings 🤣
Just looking forward to getting out and enjoying myself to be honest ☺️
