Now the dust has settled and hopefully the hangovers are away I have a few thanks to give out. Thank you to all the players who entered the competitions and played in the first round to those who got to the final as if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have seen the quality of outstanding bowls seen on finals day, so I would like to congratulations to all the winners and commiserations to the runners up.

We wouldn't have seen those bowls if it wasn't for the green keepers putting in all the hard work that goes into maintaining a bowling green so big thank you goes to Craig Arnott for his hard work all season and on the morning finals day to produce an outstanding playing surface, I heard nothing but praise the way green played.

Big days like these don't run themselves so thank you to the girls in the kitchen keeping you fed, the bar staff for keeping you hydrated all day in the hot sun, John Stevenson and John Gordon for umpiring and the members of East Wemyss for helping out.

Thank you to all the spectators who turned up to show there support.

Lastly a BIG thank you goes to the Present of East Wemyss Bowling Club and President of the Wemyss & District Bowling League 2026 Mr Gordon Moffat for allowing us to host the finals at East Wemyss and your efforts and hard work throughout the season helping me.

I have heard many speeches this season and in every one I have heard how you will always make friends in bowls and can safely confirm this as I personally feel over the past two season in this position I have met some great people who have supported me such as the help from the two presidents in my first 2 years - Dean and Gordon and everyone else who has given me support in this position I thank you.

I have had some doubts if I would be taking this position next season and some people keep asking so I would like to confirm I will be taking on the position of Secretary of the Wemyss & District Bowling League 2027 if appointed at the AGM.

The table is set and President of East Wemyss and The Wemyss League Mr Gordon Moffat is ready to cool down any spectators feeling the heat with a nice cold shower, he is currently practicing on Craig Arnott head as its that hot and red you can cook the bacon on it 😋😂

Finals day 2026 is here and the green keeper Craig Arnott is here topping up his tan on his bald head while preparing the green for the players arrival.

The sun is out so if your at a loose end pop in and quench that thirst on what looks like is going to be a cracker of a hot day while watching some quality bowls.

Please remember it is cash only at the bar.

All players must be present 30 minutes before they are due to be on the green.

Wemyss Finals Day 2026

Saturday 5th September

Can all players please arrive 30 minutes before your session to collect your red or blue stickers, score cards and to find out what rink you will be on.

Due to this being the first year of there being two full sessions there will be a presentation after the 1st session for the games played, the 2nd presentation will include the league winners.
