Great game today

HAWKS 3β2 SHARKS π¦
What a day for football! Brilliant weather and an unbelievable pitch down at Haltemprice made for the perfect setting.
The Sharks came flying out of the blocks and raced into a 2β0 lead against a very good side. Everyone wanted the ball, the movement was excellent and the passing was right on point. Goals from Nabeel and Dook set us up brilliantly.
Even without the ball, we looked good. There was a real determination not to concede, and the boys were working for each other.
Fred was outstanding today. He kept a great defensive line, didn't give his striker an inch and distributed the ball really well.
Stan was absolutely everywhere. He never stopped running, kept us ticking and got us playing some fantastic football.
Nabeel, playing in a different position today, was brilliant, defending really well and showing exactly what the team needed.
And Alan pulled off 4 or 5 amazing saves, keeping us in the game when the pressure was on.
Unfortunately, as the game went on, the Hawks managed to turn it around and score three goals. But today, the scoreline wasn't the important part β the performance was.
With only 11 players available after Robbo went off injured early, these boys had to put in a serious shift... and they absolutely did.
There is plenty for us to be proud of today. We faced a year older Group 1 side, went 2β0 up and competed right until the final whistle.
As always, we learn from every game, take the positives, work on what we can improve and try to put things right next time.
Proud of the boys today. π¦ππ€

π¦ Sharks 9β6 Kingswood Typhoons π¦
Under the lights tonight, the Sharks welcomed good friends Kingswood Typhoons to St Maryβs School for another entertaining game of football.
The Sharks started like a house on fire, racing into a 3β0 lead with some unbelievable passages of play and football that was a joy to watch.
Nabeel opened the scoring before Alex added a second, followed by a bullet header from Stephen to put the Sharks firmly in control.
In the second 20 minutes, we unfortunately allowed Kingswood back into the game, and the visitors showed great character to bring the score level going into half-time.
Second Half
The Sharks came out flying again and produced some fantastic football. We were creating chances from all over the pitch and looked dangerous every time we went forward.
Harley found the net twice, including an absolutely awesome strike, while Alex grabbed his second of the night. Dook also got himself on the scoresheet twice, and Stephen completed his brace with another excellent finish from a corner to round off a fantastic individual performance.
Kingswoodβs quick striker caused us some problems with the long ball, but apart from that, the Sharks looked comfortable throughout the night, both in and out of possession.
A fantastic game of football between two good sides, and another valuable run-out for the Sharks. Plenty of positives to take from the performance and lots to build on.
We go again on Sunday, with a tough test against a very good Hawks team. π¦ππ€
