September at Still Space Hull 🍂

September can come with a lot of back to it energy.

Back to school.
Back to work.
Back to routines.

Back to whatever we were doing before summer happened 😅

But perhaps we don’t have to rush straight back in

Maybe there’s something to be said for taking a moment to notice where we are first.

What’s changed?
What’s stayed the same?
What have we enjoyed?
What are we carrying with us?

And what happens if we get a little curious about what comes next?
That feels like the thread running through September at Still Space Hull

🌿 Unwind returns on the 1st and 15th: an hour of gentle restorative Breathwork and a little space to come down from the day

✨ This month there are two I Wonder... Breathworks.
I Wonder What I’m Noticing on the 6th: space to pause, breathe and notice what’s here after a busy summer
And I Wonder What Happens If...? on the 27th: a playful invitation to stay with the questions a little longer and see where curiosity might take us

☕ Ladies Who Latte is back after its summer break, bringing local women in business together over a brew (21st September)

💭 Wonder Walk returns for another slow wander around Hull, making time for conversation, curiosity and whatever catches our attention along the way

💗 And there’ll be more Quiet Space too… somewhere to simply come and be for a while.

September doesn’t have to just be about “getting back on track”

Perhaps you can arrive first.
Take a look around.
Catch your breath.

And then wonder where we might go from here.

I’d love to welcome you along
There’s space for you here 💗

A colourful week… even if there aren’t actually that many photos to show for it 🎨

The biggest celebration has to be Strong Bones Club turning FOUR! 🥳💪

Four years of getting stronger, adapting, laughing, learning and creating a space where strength gets to look different for different people.

Quite a lot has changed since those early days… but then so have I.

There’s been work this week, time to relax and colouring both inside the studio and out.. including stumbling across this four-sided colouring wall in Hull city centre.

I love that there’s always something unexpected around the corner here. One of the many things I love about living and working in Hull 💗

Perhaps there aren’t many photos because quite a lot of this week has been happening behind the scenes (and inside my head 😆)

I’m deep into the final stages of my breathwork teacher training, with graduation just around the corner and the possibility of welcoming apprentices in the not-too-distant future, which feels VERY exciting.

And something else I’ve been quietly working towards… becoming accredited with Cuddle Professionals International.

There’s so much more to share about that and the journey that’s brought me here, and I think it’s time to actually share some of that with you (I will soon, promise)

Ok so I’ve noticed a theme here..

All these things I’ve been developing, exploring and learning over the years since leaving the NHS are beginning to come together

Definitely not some kind of neat finished product (because I don’t think I’ll ever be finished learning) but it is turning into something I’m ready to share more of

Perhaps that’s what this culmination needs to look like…
Never finished
Just ready for the next bit

In the meantime, I’ll keep colouring, breathing, lifting things… and apparently acquiring more plants 🪴😂

Wishing you well for the upcoming week… May something you’ve been quietly tending begin to show you its next little bit of colour 🌈

The wonder and the weirdness… apparently there’s room for both ✨😂

A solar eclipse, Menopause Strength Club , dancing by the water, dancing late at night, quiet colouring, beautiful connections, World Clap Day and… a giant penguin in the city centre (only in Hull)

Because of course it has 😂

The eclipse happened while I was with some of my Strong Bones Club crew, which felt like a rather lovely way to experience something a little out of the ordinary… together, noticing and finding ways to see it that didn’t sacrifice a cornea🌒

There have been quieter moments too

Time with friends, time by myself and a little reminder around adornment from an oracle card.

Did I need to buy myself a lovely new ring off the back of that?

Possibly not

Am I willing to use the card as an excuse?

Absolutely 💍👀

Reflecting on this week, I think there’s something here about how much more comfortable I’ve become with letting life surprise me.

There was a time when the unexpected could have had me looking over my shoulder, waiting for what might be coming next

Now, there’s more trust that I can meet the ebbs and flows as they arrive.

The breath has played a big part in that

Not because Breathwork makes the difficult things disappear, but because it gives me somewhere to return to

A way to reconnect to myself and be with life as it actually is, rather than constantly bracing for the 1001 things that might happen

And perhaps that leaves a little more room to notice the joyful, beautiful and completely ridiculous things happening alongside everything else

May you find a moment of presence this week that lets you notice something wonderful in whatever life puts in front of you 💗

Not every morning at Still Space is particularly still 😂

A little wander around the corner to for coffee, dancing and connection…
followed by coming back to the quiet before getting on with my day

Shaking things up a bit and taking space to breathe

Sometimes I need a bit of both 💗

And special thanks to for the awesome tunes

I’ve been a little quieter on here recently.

Not because there’s been nothing happening

There’s been plenty of life happening in the spaces between the posts

Maybe that’s what I’ve been making space for

I’ve been thinking a lot about capacity lately.

Not capacity to squeeze more in, but having enough space to actually be present for the life I’m already living

I’m loving the fullness of quiet moments in my chair swing, watching flowers and bees doing their thing

I joined a Tree Stories session with Lauren Saunders and pulled the Aspen from the Celtic tree oracle

It felt rather fitting after a year of becoming increasingly curious about what it means to feel truly alive …not necessarily in the biggest or loudest ways, but in ways that actually feel like mine

I’ve wandered around Hull admiring the incredible sand sculptures appearing for the opening of the Hull Maritime Museum including a rather magnificent dragon and compass

There’s been plenty happening at Still Space too

Quiet Spaces continue to remind me how much can happen when we make room for very little to happen at all

And there are breathworks on the horizon (of course) …with Unwind back at Still Space Hull and Rooftop Reset Humber Street Gallery taking breathwork out under the open sky later this month

Then today was another Wonder Walk ✨

We wandered through Queen’s Gardens beneath the willows, met ducks and their babies, spotted fish, noticed little chalk messages left behind and, as always, enjoyed the company and conversation along the way

One of those messages stood out to me

Be proud 🥹

That seems like quite a nice place to end this little life review

Maybe there hasn’t been less to share lately

Maybe I’ve just been busy being here for it 💗

And if you’re still reading.. thank you for being here with me too 🫶

There’s a lot to notice right now, isn’t there?

The world doesn’t seem to slow down very often.

Perhaps that’s why making space to pause, breathe and reconnect with yourself feels more important than ever.

Swipe to see what’s happening at Still Space Hull this month.

I’m especially excited that, at the end of the month, I’ll be taking a little piece of Still Space Hull across the bridge for Open Sky, Open Breath : a rooftop breathwork journey at Humber Street Gallery.

I can’t wait to share that experience with you.

There’s space for you here 💗

I’ve noticed there are quite a few new people here lately

So maybe we should check we’re all in the right place 💗

If you’re heading to Hull Pride this weekend, I hope you have the most wonderful day. 🌈💗

I’ll be soaking up the atmosphere in the morning before heading back to Still Space Hull, where from 1–6pm the studio will become a calm, low-stimulation space for anyone who needs a breather.

Whether you’ve been dancing all morning, fancy a quiet cup of tea, want somewhere to sit with a book, take a few slow breaths, or simply have a moment away from the crowds, you’re very welcome.

Then, when you’re ready, you can head back out and enjoy the rest of your Pride.

Or... you might discover that quiet is your kind of celebration too.

Save the map if you think you might need it, and feel free to share it with anyone who’d appreciate a little breathing space.

📍 Still Space Hull

🌿 1–6pm
☕ Tea, water & quiet company
💗 Everyone is welcome

Movement, wonder and letting it all settle

Today we had Wonder Walk number two, and once again there was so much to notice

The flower card I pulled beforehand felt very fitting:
there is so much to notice in the silence

The breeze softened the heat, the marina gave us boat names to muse over, one boat appeared to be growing mushrooms 🍄‍🟫…

and I became slightly obsessed with some spiky little flowers that had softened beautifully as they bloomed
(something more to muse on there)

We finished up with coffee and continued our philosophical chat at Still Space Hull which gave us the perfect moment to take a breath and let it all sink in

And that was just today

This week has also included dancing beside the water at a coffee rave

meeting new people

and throwing a few shapes at aerial class … I’m sure they’ll begin to look more intentional soon 😂

Now I’m taking some quiet, a breath, and a little time to let it all settle in before the next week begins again

I love the contrast of it all
Movement and stillness
Conversation and silence
Trying new things and returning to myself afterwards

Lately I’m really feeling how much life becomes available when we give ourselves permission to notice it

Thank you to everyone who joined me in my wonderings today 💗

I’m thinking Sunday 9th August for the next Wonder Walk, so pop it in your diary if you fancy joining us (join the WhatsApp group if you want to keep updated)

And if you’d like a little more space to pause and reconnect, my next Breathwork workshop is Sunday 26th July.

Message me for the details or use the link in my profile

For now, enjoy the pictures… and if one of them contains the message you needed today, do with that as you wish 🥰✨
