Delayed post from our home game to Galloway thistle on Saturday ⚽️

We were in uncharted waters facing Galloway Thisle for the very first time, we expected a tough game, but feel that we matched them pretty well, they were dangerous from set pieces and some incredible goals.

Thought our boys looked a wee bit nervous in the first 15 mins but settled a bit better after that and started pressing with more urgency which made a huge difference.

Although it’s not the result we wanted, We are coming away from the game with a lot more positives, still somethings to improve on but we will get there, one step at a time.

Game finished 8-1 to Galloway, with Darryl getting the goal with wait for it ……. A PENALTY, well done Darryl.

We are proud of the fight and improvement shown by the boys today, and told them afterwards, if they carry that into every game, we will be absolutely fine.

Overall we had a solid team performance, Referee was away sharp so we asked the Galloway coaches to chose our man of the match. They awarded it to Oscar well done wee man.

We also feel both goalies should be given a special mention, they both pulled off some cracking saves.

Our 2013 Boys at top golf yesterday fair to say their enjoyed their self’s ❤️

Well what a day at Morton Thistle Michael Bennett memorial festival. Thank you Morton Thistle 2013 for having us.

From start to finish, the boys played some great football, showed brilliant link-up play and conducted themselves fantastically throughout. We couldn’t have asked for much more from them.

We were really unlucky to walk away with only a win and a draw but runners up for the Trophy and we could not be prouder of the boys. First competitive win in the bag and it wasn’t an easy one. The improvements since the last tournament are night and day, real improvements that we are happy to see and will bring us into good stead for the season ahead.

Great day out at the Blantyre Tournament today for the boys today, even though the results didn’t go their way they all tried their hearts out. ⚽️🏅

The team played some great football a player that stood out for the tournament was Oscar who gave his all throughout and played brilliantly throughout the tournament!

In the first couple of games, we looked brilliant, worked well as a team, and performed strongly in both matches. Towards the last few games, we started to lose our rhythm a bit, but all of the boys worked hard throughout what was a long and tiring day for everyone, particularly them. They handled themselves well on the pitch and represented the team brilliantly.

Amazing performance from the boys today. Although they never got the win, they showed massive improvements and we can already see how they’ll take that into next season. So proud of them all but a big mention to today’s MOTM Alfie - well done Alfie ☺️⚽️⚽️

Big Game day tomorrow as our 2012s are in the Quarter Final again against West Kilbride who we are also fighting for the League at the minute, its also going down to the wire so the pressure is on.

Hopefully the Community support will help push the Boys over the Line as we dare to be the the first Young Shortlees Team to lift a League Title.
