Heading to Penshurst today with what I’m
hoping will be a nice double with Imperial Esprit and Count Simon both with very realistic winning chances.
Will be disappointed if they don’t both win to be honest.
Had no luck at all at Aintree on Thursday when we took Empire De Maulde there for the Randox Foxhunters.
On the Thursday morning I was getting on him to canter him around Aintree and stretch his legs and he backed on to the low loading ramp wall.
He was not lame at first and did his canter and then passed his vets inspection at 8.00am. But later he stiffened up and the leg swelled up which the vets took a second look at and he was rightly pulled out on medical advice.
Hopefully he will be back on the course in the next couple of weeks, possibly Kingston Blount, Parham or Warwick depending on how long it takes him.
