The SVT Knockdown prides itself on showcasing as many different styles and martial artists as possible.

It is one of the only formats available in competition where competitors can express their personal style due to the openness of the formats/rulesets.

UK Amateur Shootboxing A-Class Rules:

✅ Punches, kicks and elbows to the head are permitted
✅ Knees to body and legs only
✅ All throws, takedowns, sweeps, trips and slams are permitted
✅ All catches of kicks and knees leading into strikes or takedowns etc are permitted without time limit
✅ All clinch fighting permitted without time limit
✅ All standing submissions are permitted
✅ No ground fighting is permitted

Clothing/equipment requirements:

✅ 10oz boxing gloves
✅ Shin and insteps
✅ Elbow pads
✅ Groin guard
✅ Gum shield
✅ Chest guard (female)
✅ Tshirt, rash guard, vest, Gi or no top may be worn
✅ Shorts, compression pants, Gi trousers may be worn

UK Amateur Shootboxing has 3 classes of participation from C-Class through to A-Class ensuring a progression for all students to gain experience safely in the sport.

At FOTM 27 on July 3rd our UKSA Grappling ruleset will make its first appearance.

UKSA Grappling is a competition format that we created from our UK Shootboxing format.

The rules are ultra simple and the sport is a lot of fun for practitioners making it easy to step into.

There are two divisions:

✅ Gi 🥋
✅ No Gi 🤼‍♂️

Competitors are matched on height, weight, experience and as close to regarding their age.

✅ Matches are for a single round of 3 or 5mins.
✅ Each successful takedown, sweep, throw, trip or slam equals a point.
✅ The competitor with the most points at the end wins.
✅ If a competitor gets a submission in the round the match is finished.
✅ There is no ground fighting permitted.
✅ In the event of a draw with no points. Judges will decide who they think pushed the action the most.
✅ Passivity will not be valued.
✅ There are no grip restrictions as to where to grip or for how long you can grip.
✅ Matches take place in a ring not on mats

This style of competition welcomes people from all styles such as combat karate, ju jitsu, BJJ, Judo, wrestling, Sambo, submission grappling etc

Our events are open to all styles and associations.

Our aim is bring martial artists together regardless of style.
