CB Hounslow & Abbots Saturday 3rds | Men’s Mental Health
Mental health affects everyone, yet for far too long, men’s mental health has remained a conversation many feel unable to have. Too often, men are taught to “man up,” hide their emotions, or suffer in silence, believing that asking for help is a sign of weakness. The reality is that speaking up takes strength, and no one should ever feel they have to face their struggles alone.
Today, our Saturday 3rds manager, Rhys, sat down with members of the team to have an open and honest conversation about men’s mental health. By creating a safe environment where players feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences, we hope to encourage more conversations like this both on and off the pitch.
At CB Hounslow & Abbots, we believe football is about far more than results and performances. It’s about building a community where people support one another, look out for each other, and know they are never alone. We are committed to helping break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and reminding everyone that it’s okay not to be okay.
Together, we can change the narrative. Let’s continue to check in on our teammates, our friends, our families, and ourselves. A simple conversation could make all the difference.

CB Hounslow & Abbots are now recruiting Under 11 & Under 12 girls who will be entering Year 6 and Year 7 this September to join our newly formed team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a welcoming, ambitious club and compete in the Middlesex Youth League.
