Highlight of the day was feeding the poor ragged urchins ( the stone age kids) left over chocolate pudding and pink blancmange.

Annott is going to kill me. Take photos she said. First day what did I do? Got really bossy with Mrs Cuttle and Miss Talia. That's a country hat, that's a town hat. No no that one's just for big cities like London! Miss Talia's sweet voice: Can I help? Bossy me "Yes can you fetch hot water for the washing up? Here's a really heavy kettle . Arghh the chickens are invading! It's raining. Bring the toys in!!!!!!

And advice from a dotty old grandma aka. a very wise lady....when you get furious because a book case hasn't arrived 2 months after ordering it.....try looking in your eBay shopping basket. I forgot to click buy. DOH! 🙄

So...you saw how dilemma prone I am with the food basket conundrum. I've decided that's how my brain works. I get a picture in my head. Eg. I have a rejected bodice kicking around. I'll add some sleeves and a skirt, but it's not for anyone special. It'll go in my Regency emergency dressing up box. If anyone mutters I wonder if I'd like to try being in your Regency Hat Shop I sweetly say I can lend you a dress so you don't stress. Or my mate, mate as in person I go running to saying help help my tent pole has snapped, or Oh my saviour, can you just help me pull this tent upright, or I need another ten ton table, or can you move some shelves half way across the manor for me etc..so my mate says I can make a bracket for your hat shop sign to hang off . Can you make a hat shop sign? And I say yes. So I picture these things in my head and then spend weeks thinking how do I make that....? How do I make the dress expandable? How do I transfer the writing onto the sign? I really should stick to making things I know how to make like pins, needles and aiglets 🙄

When the to-do list is cleared (apart from finishing 100 needles) and I decide to decorate a Regency doll's bonnet......how can I not find the right ribbon to use? Look at my box of ribbons ! 🙄

Did you know it takes two weeks of contemplating to pick what basket hinges should be made of? Do curly werly willow rings? Nope they bend in an ugly manner and crack. Plaited rush or raffia? Not that strong and will wear through too quickly. Scour You Tube. Leather! Everyone's been using leather for yonks. Don't reinvent the wheel girl! Use leather! Oh whoopsie daisy. I was going to destash my leather. Good job it's still on the to-do list. Phew. That's the hanging bread basket done.

We are ensconced in the Kentwell Magic Weekend. We have some lovely neighbours. I'm officially helping the Magic Objects Emporium. We have a fairy washer woman, Mrs Rainbow and her rainbow fairies, and if it's all too much there's a dark sensory room to help you calm down.
