Today the first team welcome Towyn FC to top Parc for a 14:30 kick off.

This will be the first encounter between these two teams as Towyn are newly formed this season.

As usual the refreshment hut is open serving hot and cold food and drinks 🍔🍟🥤

A dominant, ruthless display sees Henllan Development score 8 and take all 3 points against Blue Bridge Development!

Henllan started well moving the ball about but were unable to find the back of the net early on, the deadlock was broken when Tomos Jones laid off Deio T Jones to smash home to make it 1-0.

5 minutes later a Cai Jones corner was met by the head of Alex Williams to header the ball in for 2.

Henllan created more chances but were wasteful in front of goal but right on the stroke of half time another Cai Jones corner was this time headed home by Deio Jones to make it 3-0 at the break.

More of the same was the talk at half time and to be fair to Blue Bridge they started the second half brightly and really pressed but on the 58th minute a great passing move from Henllan popping it round the back then into the middle then quickly into Tomos Jones who made a great run in on goal only to be brought down by the keeper to win a penalty.

Deio T Jones tucked the penalty away confidently to make it 4-0.

Henllan really had a taste for goals now and on the 71st minute Rhydian Owen laid off Keiran Kendrick to finish nicely to make it 5-0.

Subs were made and a positive impact by all of them meant we scored 3 more goals in the final 15 minutes.

Substitute George Pierce grabbing 2 goals and Deio T jones completing his hatrick 🎩

Final score 8-0 to Henllan Development.

The development team are back in action this afternoon as they welcome CPD. Blue Bridge Development to Top Parc for a 2pm kick off.

This will be a great contest, both teams sitting on 10 points in the table with Blue Bridge playing a game more than Henllan. But both teams have started the season well and will be keen to take home 3 points today.

It’s the development teams first game back at Top Parc this season so any support would be appreciated.

Refreshments are available with hot and cold food and drinks available.

Henllan progress to the second round of the Junior Challenge Cup!

Henllan started well and created a couple of chances that forced good saves from the Rangers keeper.

The deadlock was broken on 20 minutes when Shaun Davies drove towards goal and finished low and hard to make it 0-1 to Henllan.

2 minutes later Harry Payne goes through and finishes well to make it 0-2.

Rangers started battling back but Henllan stayed strong in the duels and Alex Thomas grabbed a 3rd on the 37th minute to extend Henllan’s lead.

On the stroke of half time, Shaun Davies wins a penalty for Henllan which Elgan Hughes converted to make it 4 to Henllan at the break.

Second half started and Rangers pushed men forwards and for 15 minutes it was a real battle in the middle of the park which the lads dealt with well, and some good pressing from Shaun Davies who won the ball in the Rangers area and finished well to grab his second of the game and Henllan’s 5th.

Just 2 minutes later Connor Lloyd was laid off at the edge of the area and strikes it well to make it 0-6 and Henllan were cruising at this point.

Subs were made and with management knowing if Shaun was to grab a hatrick he wouldn’t shut up about it for a year the decision was made to bring him off along with a few others.

On the 89th minute Fran carried the ball to the edge of the Rangers area and struck it sweet to finish off the scoring by making it 0-7 with the final whistle coming a few minutes after.

Solid performance, into the next round and nice to score a few and keep a clean sheet but this is the standard we need to take into future games to compete going forward.

Today the first team travel to Rhyl in the first round of the Junior Challenge Cup to face Rhyl Rangers FC.

Both teams will be keen to progress to the next round and have a good cup run so the lads know they need to be at it from the off today.

Derby day victory for the Development lads!

Henllan Development showed great spirit to come from 3-1 down at half time to run out victors against Denbigh Town Development.

Henllan started slow and found themselves 2-0 down after 12 minutes.

Henllan pulled one back on the 41st minute but were quickly punished again 2 minutes later and found themselves 3-1 down at half time.

Words were said at half time and as a group we knew we needed to be better on the ball and utilise the pitch and that’s exactly what we did.

2 goals in the first 10 minutes of the half got Henllan back level but Denbigh retook the lead on the hour mark to make it 4-3.

Henllan hit back with 2 goals in 5 minutes to lead 5-4 for the first time in the game with 25 to go.

Henllan started to control the game and create more chances and eventually were awarded with another goal on the 83rd minute to complete the scoring and secure all 3 points for Henllan Development.

Derby day!

Today the Development team make the short trip to neighbours Denbigh Development for a local derby.

A big weekend of football coming up for Henllan starting off with the first team welcoming Llandyrnog to Top Parc on Saturday.

Sunday sees the Development team travel to Central Park to play Denbigh’s development team in a league fixture.

Both are local derbies and will be highly entertaining games.

A lot of work has gone on at Top Parc, especially on the pitch and this is the first home game of the season for Henllan’s first team. Llandyrnog are on a fine run of form winning 5/5 in the league with last week’s result a real statement, but on derby day anything can happen and the lads look forward to the challenge.

Sunday the Development team who have had a strong start to the season with some good results will be looking to get on over on their local rivals Denbigh.

If you are able to, come along and support both teams In what will be a fine weekend of local football!
