A fantastic result for the Millig Comets, as they defeated Clydesdale to record a brilliant 135-6 to 106-9 victory! 👏

But this result represents so much more than just a win.
The journey of this new team has been incredible. Most of these players only started playing cricket in January, with little or no previous knowledge of the game. Since then, they have worked incredibly hard and made huge progress — not only in developing their cricketing skills, but also in understanding the etiquette, teamwork and spirit that make cricket such a special game.

Every player has developed at their own pace, supported one another and continued to give their best. Against Clydesdale, they performed to the very best of their abilities and were rewarded with a fantastic team win. ☄️🏆

The match itself was played in a brilliant spirit of cricket, with the focus firmly on fun, enjoyment, learning and development — exactly what this team has been about from the very beginning. A big thank you to Clydesdale for supporting this fixture, it was an absolute pleasure hosting you for the game and meeting your wonderful team. We're already looking forward to the return fixture.

We are incredibly proud of everything the Millig Comets have achieved in their first season and are already looking forward to taking the next steps in their development throughout the Autumn and Winter months.

What a fantastic start for our new Helensburgh Women’s Rugby Team, with 16 women joining us for our first training session yesterday! 💚💛

A brilliant afternoon of rugby, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, the beginning of something new for women’s rugby at Helensburgh. 👏

A huge well done to everyone who came along and got involved. Whether you’ve played rugby before or picked up a rugby ball for the first time today, everyone is welcome.

This weekend, both Helensburgh sides face important fixtures.

The 1st XI will be looking to make home advantage count in what is a crucial game. We need the Ardencaple boundary full of support as the lads fight for every ball.

The 2nd XI head on the road knowing exactly how important every point could be as the season draws towards its conclusion. A big challenge awaits, and the team will be ready to give everything.
There is no room to look too far ahead. One game. One ball. One moment at a time.
