Pilates doesn’t always have to be slow and gentle.
This little flow combines side-body strength, plank control, hip extension and upper-body strength — all while keeping the movement controlled and connected.
Side bend → plank → pull leg prone → press-up → side bend.
A great little full-body Pilates challenge. 💪

A little glimpse of my Sunday Yin practice in the Yoga & Pilates Hut 🤍
Nothing fancy, nothing forced — just taking a little time to settle into each shape, breathe, and let the body soften.
Some positions feel easy to find, while others need a bit more time and adjusting. That’s part of the practice too.
A lovely way to slow things down before the week begins.
Balance doesn’t always look perfectly still — and that’s okay.
Those little wobbles are your body working hard to keep you upright, with your feet, ankles, hips and core constantly making tiny adjustments.
And yes, Pilates instructors wobble too 😄
Some days are good, some days not. Some days a bit wobbly, some days not so wobbly!
Feeling tight after a busy week? 🌿
Slow things down with these 3 Yin Yoga poses to help release tension, improve mobility and give your body a chance to unwind.
✨ Dragonfly – opening through the inner thighs, hips and back
✨ Supported Bridge – a gentle release for the front of the body
✨ Melting Heart – opening through the shoulders, chest and upper back
In Yin, there’s no rush. Find a comfortable edge, allow your muscles to soften and give your body time to settle into each pose.
Save this one for when your body needs a little reset. 💚
Can you build through all 4 Pilates layers? 🔥
This side-lying series is a brilliant way to challenge your core, hips, glutes and stability — with each layer adding something a little different.
Start with legs together, then progress through side kicks and leg circles before taking it up into kneeling for the final challenge.
The key throughout? Control, stability and quality of movement.
How many layers can you do? 👀
A simple back extension progression to gradually build strength through the back of the body.
Starting with controlled back extension, then adding different arm positions, side bending and finally swimming to increase the challenge.
The aim isn’t to get as high as possible — it’s about control, length and building strength gradually.
I’m finally in! 🌿
My new outdoor studio is up and running and I’m so pleased with how it’s coming together.
There are still a few little finishing touches to do, but it already feels like such a lovely space for Pilates, strength training and Yin Yoga.
And on a sunny day like this, with the doors open onto the garden, it’s pretty special. ☀️🌿
Here’s a little look around my new Nidderdale Fitness studio.
These aren’t quick stretches. Yin gives you time to stay in a position, settle and allow the body to gradually soften.
This simple Pilates side bend is brilliant for improving spinal mobility, core strength and posture.
By reaching up and over while keeping control through your centre, you’re not just stretching your side body—you’re strengthening the muscles that support your spine and helping your body move more efficiently.
✨ Move slowly.
✨ Keep both hips grounded.
✨ Think about lengthening rather than collapsing into the stretch.
Small, controlled movements often make the biggest difference.

Strong doesn’t always mean moving faster or doing the hardest exercise.
One of the biggest benefits of Pilates is learning to move with control. Every lift has a purpose, every muscle works together, and every movement is done with intention.
Pull Leg Prone is a fantastic exercise for building core strength, improving shoulder stability and strengthening the muscles that support good posture.
In my classes, we focus on quality over quantity. We take the time to build strong foundations before progressing, so you feel confident and move better in everyday life.
