The final pre-season friendly for the Reserves before the league campaign gets underway next weekend — and it’s Firsts vs Reserves!

Both sides will be looking to finish a great pre-season with a competitive fixture against one another, before hopefully sinking a few beers together afterwards 🍻

The bond within this club gets stronger by the week, and days like this are exactly what it’s all about.

The weather might not be looking its best this weekend, but don’t let that dampen your spirits!

After 90 minutes of hard-fought action, Yorkley AFC unfortunately exit the competition at the semi-final stage.

It all looked so promising that a cup final day was on the cards when the superb Jack Paterson gave Yorkley a deserved lead after edging the first half.

But Redbrook fought back and scored two goals worthy of a place in the final. The game could have gone either way, with the Redbrook keeper probably picking up the Man of the Match award after pulling off a couple of wonder saves towards the end.

Yorkley tried everything to take the game to penalties, but it just wasn’t to be.

There is a huge amount to be proud of from our Charities campaign as a whole, and we wish Redbrook Rovers Football Club all the very best in the final.

And finally, a massive THANK YOU to our supporters last night. The touchline was packed as always, and we’re absolutely gutted we couldn’t give you a final to attend.

But this isn’t the end.

Now we turn our focus to the league and supporting these lads all the way. 🔵🟡

Yorkley AFC have now had confirmation of our opponents for the semi-final of the Charities Intermediate Section, and it’s Redbrook Rovers away this Wednesday 26th August and it’s a 6:30pm kick off! 🔵🟡

Because apparently our reward for topping the group with maximum points and the best goal difference is… an away trip to a team in the league above us. 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

So bring your flares, flags and loudest voices as we head to Redbrook for what promises to be an absolute battle! 💥

And with the Redbrook pitch famously resembling a tennis court, expect long balls galore to take centre stage in what we’re told is an apparent football match. 🎾⚽😂

It’s going to be a tough one, but that’s exactly why we need everyone behind the lads!

What a day for the club! 🙌

The Firsts put in another fantastic performance, running out 4-1 winners at home against Rank Outsiders AFC, while the Seconds picked up a brilliant win on the road against Ruardean United FC Reserves! ⚽️🔥

With the season now just a few weeks away, everything is really starting to come together. Hopefully both sides can carry this momentum into the new campaign and have a cracking season! 💪

And what a feeling it was seeing everyone from the club sat together on the grass, enjoying a pint, having a laugh and having a proper boogie! 🍻💃🕺

That’s what this club is all about. ❤️
