What does £3,000 of football sponsorship actually buy?
Liverpool’s reported new front of shirt agreement demonstrates the extraordinary commercial value of football at £60m, but the same principle applies throughout the game.
Businesses are not simply buying space on a shirt. They are buying attention, association and a place within a story.
Saltire City FC may be Scotland’s newest senior football club, but our audience is already growing well beyond the level at which we currently play.
Over the last 28 days, our Facebook content alone generated:
16,400 individual viewers
1,600 content interactions
383 link clicks
83,589 views from people who do not currently follow the club
All achieved without paid advertising.
Our content generated approximately another 50,000 views over the weekend, with a matchday vlog still to be released by a creator with around 75,000 YouTube subscribers and 105,000 TikTok followers.
That sits alongside national press coverage from Daily Mail and the proposed forthcoming Saltire City mini documentary series, which will tell the story of Scotland’s newest senior club and Britain’s first AI led football club.
A £3,000 Saltire City partnership is therefore not simply a logo on a football shirt.
It provides year-round association with the club, regular digital exposure, matchday visibility, reusable content, national storytelling opportunities and the chance to become part of our journey from its earliest stage.
At our current Facebook viewing rate alone, the club is on course to generate more than 1.5 million content views over 12 months. That would place a £3,000 partnership at an indicative cost of approximately £1.94 per 1,000 channel views, before Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, press coverage, matchday exposure and documentary content are included.
The greatest value, however, belongs to the businesses that join us now.
Our strip and matchday apparel remain available, meaning a partner could have been at the forefront of every photograph, video and media opportunity generated across this weekend.
Filming of our proposed mini documentary series could begin shortly. This is the final opportunity to secure the most visible positions before that story develops.
Sponsorship opportunities start from £500.

Saltire City v Troon FC
A real game of two halves yesterday against a very well organised and experienced Troon side.
We knew from the outset we were stepping up a couple of levels and that we would have to be disciplined. Losing the first goal after only four minutes made the task much harder, and in the first half we didn’t do the things we had worked on during the week well enough, particularly protecting the centre of the pitch and making that first pass count when we regained possession.
At half time we changed the shape and made a few personnel changes, and I thought the response from the players was excellent.
We kept the ball better, played with more freedom and showed far more confidence in possession. To come out and win the second half 2-0 against a Lowland League side is a huge credit to the players.
There are no points or prizes for winning a half of football and we know the standards we need to reach, but the second half showed what this group is capable of when we trust ourselves and play our way.
Plenty to learn from, plenty to build on and we keep moving forward.
