👇lifting straps and RDL👇
There are always arguments about when you should use straps, belts, knee sleeves etc.
If we focus on straps then if you’re only looking to build strength in the target muscle, use straps, if you need to improve grip strength as well, limit the use of straps.
On a Romanian deadlift it’s more often than not a good idea to use straps. There are plenty of other chances to not use straps and build grip strength.
I’ve also found it a lot easier to wrap my straps on the safety arms than it is when the bar is on the ground and especially if it’s the J-Hooks.
For this you just need to make sure they are set up with roughly the same about of material ok each side and then roll the bar down. You can then do both at the same time instead of having to do one then the other and it helps keep the tension a bit more balanced.
