The final match for our Brand Putter Team was played on Thursday (9th July) at an allocated neutral venue (Cathcart Castle).

Playing against Williamwood, our team won 4.5 - 3.5, giving them an excellent final total of 37 points. However, in what has been a very tightly contested season & with Bonnyton winning 5.5 - 2.5 against Pollok, saw them become the 2026 league champions with 38 points. Congratulations to Bonnyton 👏

A solid performance from our Greenlees ladies team today.

Playing away from home at the very difficult Ranfurly Castle course, they brought in an excellent 6 - 3 victory.

First ever Golf Sixes event held at Cathkin Braes on Sunday. Our team managed an excellent 2nd place finish, only narrowly missing out on a 3rd win in a row by a single point. Well done to all the participating clubs 🙌⛳

A big shout out to Alan Martin for taking the lead on this event, registering & starting over 40 kids.....a great achievement in itself 🤣

With warm dry weather, it was full on with maintenance work last week. Following on from the renovation works, the course is getting back to superb condition & we are already starting to see the over seed beginning to germinate.

Congratulations to Carol McKinnon who got her first ever hole in 1 today at our tough par 3 11th.

Annual green works.

July restoration works completed this week including verti cutting, solid tining, sand brushing hand cutting and a liquid feed. This yearly program helps ensure we enjoy top quality green conditions throughout the season and beyond.

Maintenance

The course benefiited from some favourable growing conditions this past week even allowing for a couple of colder days.

The greens team made and installed a lid for the inspection chamber between the 4th and the 6th fairways and have cut back and tidied the area located behind the 12th tee and along the pathway from the 8th green to the 9th tee.

Recent visiting teams and guests continue to compliment our course. So, here's to some more good weather to encourage us to get out and appreciate how well the course is playing.
