A huge well done to the full squad, who all played their part during what has turned out to be a dream debut season for the team.

Honourable mention goes to Warriors Mhari Mcnaught and Stephanie Crawford who made it to the semi-finals of the Womens Doubles 3.5 15+. That podium has your name on it next year ladies!

THATS A WRAP 🏓

On Sunday, our Warriors 2 played their final match of the Division 3B West league campaign at home against Prestwick. While we didn't get the win, this match brought a fantastic close to a season full of high points and great learning experiences.

​This was the very first year our Warriors 2 played together as a team—and for many, their first time playing competitive matches! The growth and teamwork have been incredible to watch, and the squad has done us all so proud. 👏

​A huge congratulations to the entire team for representing David Lloyd West End with such positivity, inclusiveness, and passion. ​🙌 Shout out to our amazing squad:

WARRIORS 2 JUMP INTO FINAL MATCH

Join us this Sunday, 19th July at 12:30, as our Warriors 2 host Prestwick for our final Division 3B league match of the season.

​Why not come along, cheer on the team, and join us to celebrate the conclusion of Warriors 2's inaugural competitive season.

​Team captains Lesley and Shelley shared a few words ahead of the match:

​"This Sunday is our final game of the season. It’s been a tumultuous one for us, but we wouldn’t have missed it for the world. It’s a shame the season is over, as we feel we are just getting started! We will be in the bar afterwards for post-match / pre-World Cup drinks if anyone would like to join us. See you there!"

On Sunday, our brave Warriors 2 took on their penultimate match of the season away against the East Kilbride Oystercatchers in the Division 3B West league.

​Knowing the Oystercatchers had won 7 of their 8 matches, we expected a tough battle—and it certainly was! Despite a 2-7 defeat, this was arguably the Warriors' best performance of the season. The team played some lovely pickleball and put all those months of hard work at training right into action on the court.

​The scoreline hasn't dampened spirits one bit. In fact, competing so fiercely against a top-of-the-table team has only made them stronger!

​🗣️ Team Captain Lesley said:
​"Another hard-fought match! I felt we played really well against tough opposition. Even though we lost, we really enjoyed it and thought we did superbly against a team of that calibre. Onwards and upwards to our final game of the season next Sunday!"

​📅 Up Next: The Warriors' final match of the season is THIS Sunday at HOME against Prestwick.

MATCH UPDATE - WARRIORS 2 MATCHDAY 10

This past Sunday, West End Warriors 2 returned to the pickleball courts for an away match against the Lomond Smashers. Coming off a strong 6-3 victory against the same side last weekend, we battled hard but narrowly fell 4-5 in front of a passionate home crowd.

​Despite the result, the team played extremely well and showed incredible dedication. Captain Lesley shared her pride in the team: "It was a brave and hard-fought effort by our Warriors today, but we just came up short. We had one brave warrior who got out of his sickbed to play—he didn’t want to let the team down, so it was a very brave effort! 💜"
