Now THIS is a 50th birthday cake that knows how to make an entrance! 🩷🖤

Julie’s husband contacted me to arrange something extra special for her big birthday, and the whole thing was TOP SECRET! 🤫 We chatted through ideas and decided there could only be one theme for a lady who loves her Tequila Rose!

We went full-on showstopper. Gorgeous pinks, splashes of black for a little drama, beautiful florals and, of course, those bottles of Tequila Rose taking centre stage. 🍓🥂

And underneath all that fabulousness… an indulgent chocolate sponge with a gorgeous chocolate filling, finished with vanilla buttercream. Because if you’re turning 50, you might as well do it properly! 🎂

Julie really is an amazing lady and I absolutely loved being trusted with such a special surprise for her milestone birthday. I hope you had the most fabulous 50th, Julie… and maybe a little Tequila Rose or two to celebrate! 😂💗

A big shoutout to The Baked Studio Ltd for the absolutely beautiful flower hoop which finished the whole look perfectly. 🌸

When most 2-year-olds are obsessed with dinosaurs, diggers or Paw Patrol… Ozzie is living his best life with a TOOTHBRUSH 😂

Apparently this little fella absolutely LOVES brushing his teeth, so there really was only one theme for his birthday cake!

A super cute toothbrush and toothy themed cake for Ozzie’s big number 2 💙🦷

I think his dentist would definitely approve of this one… although maybe not the sugar content! 😂🎂

One of the things I love most about what I do is that no two days at Heritage Cupcakes are ever the same 💕

One day it’s a big bespoke celebration cake, the next it’s cupcakes, a giant cookie, a pizza cake or something completely different!

Different themes, different colours, different ideas and sometimes briefs that really get me thinking 😂 I genuinely love the variety and being trusted to turn your ideas into something special.

So I thought I’d share a little collection of some of my work, especially as I haven’t actually shown you many of my cakes in here lately!

And now I’m curious… 👀

🦄🌸 A little bit of magic for Meadow turning FOUR 🌸🦄

When the brief is unicorns, lots of pink and “I’ll leave the rest to you”… you know it’s going to be something pretty. 🩷

So for Meadow’s special day I created a cake filled with all the sweetness and magic of being four. Pretty pinks, dreamy little details and, of course, a beautiful unicorn to make it extra special. ✨

There’s something so lovely about making birthday cakes for little ones, especially when you can imagine their face when they see it for the first time. 🥹🩷

Could a 2nd birthday theme get any sweeter than this?!

A super cute pizza cake for little Lyla, packed with all the candy shop goodness and the prettiest pastel shades. Think sweets, sprinkles, sugary colours and basically everything a two-year-old’s dreams are made of! 🩷💜🩵

Each little “pizza slice” got its own sweet makeover, because when the brief is TWO SWEET, there’s really no such thing as too much candy! 😂🍬

Bright, fun, girly and completely adorable… I absolutely loved bringing this one together.

🎭🖤💛BEHIND THE MASK… THERE’S CHOCOLATE! 🖤💛🎭

When the birthday theme is a Masquerade Ball, you don’t turn up with a quiet little cake… you bring the DRAMA! ✨

Summer’s cake had one job, to match the glamour and mystery of the evening, and I think this beauty understood the assignment perfectly.

A striking solid black backdrop set the scene, dressed with a statement gold masquerade mask, delicate edible gold leaf and dramatic plumes to give it that proper midnight masquerade feel. 🖤💛

And underneath all that glamour? Chocolate cake! Because if you’re going to be dramatic on the outside, you may as well be delicious on the inside too. 😂🍫

There’s just something about black and gold that instantly looks luxurious, and this has to be one of those cakes that makes you look twice.

Elegant, mysterious, a little bit extravagant… and definitely not one for hiding behind a mask! 🎭🖤💛
