WHY PEEBLES?
Why did we choose Peebles for our Harvest Wild Swim Festival?
Well... where do I start?
The River Tweed running right through the town.
The surrounding countryside..
Independent shops, cafΓ©s and lovely places to eat.
And within minutes you can leave the bustle behind and find yourself surrounded by nature.
Peebles isn't simply where our festival happens.
It's part of the festival.
So when you come to our Harvest Wild Swim Festival, take a little extra time to wander, discover and enjoy our wee corner of the Scottish Borders.

π ONE MONTH TO GO!
One month from today we'll be welcoming swimmers to Peebles for our Harvest Wild Swim Festival.
And I'm getting so excited!
There will be swims in the Tweed, night swimming, walks, creativity, wildlife, local stories, good food, fancy hats, laughter and one rather special swim underneath a castle.
But more than anything, it's a weekend about spending time together, enjoying the water and discovering a little more about the beautiful place we're swimming in.
Over the next month we'll introduce you to the people, places and experiences that make our Harvest Wild Swim Festival rather special.
Could this be your kind of weekend? ππ

Dip into the Dark & Welcome in the New Moon
There is something rather magical about being in the water as daylight begins to fadeβ¦
As part of the South of Scotland Dark Skies Festival, join us at beautiful Loch of the Lowes for an autumn evening of wild swimming, firelight, food and good company with Glen Cafe at St Mary's Loch
Weβll meet as dusk begins to settle over the loch, get ourselves ready and then take to the water as day slips into night.
And because this is a Dark Skies event, weβre adding a little sparkle of our own.
Pop a light inside your tow float.
Wrap some battery fairy lights around your hat.
Light yourself up and become part of the view!
Imagine looking across the darkening loch and seeing little pools of light bobbing across the water while the stars begin to appear overhead.
Once weβre back on dry land, weβll gather around the fire, warm our hands, tuck into hot soup and sβmores, and simply enjoy being there.
No rushing off.
Just chatting, laughing, looking up at the sky and enjoying one of those lovely moments when life feels wonderfully simple.
Because sometimes the best adventures are about being completely in the moment.

ππ HARVEST WILD SWIM FESTIVAL β PEEBLES ππ
What if you could spend a weekend swimming, discovering, creating, eating, laughing and simply enjoying everything that autumn in the Scottish Borders has to offer?
That's exactly what our Harvest Wild Swim Festival is all about.
Of course there will be swimming...
π Swimming in the beautiful River Tweed.
π° Swimming beneath the incredible Neidpath Castle before heading inside the castle for tea and cake.
π Getting into the water as darkness falls for one of our night swims, lights twinkling on tow floats and, undoubtedly, a few fairy lights appearing too!
But Harvest has never been just about the swimming.
We'll walk.
We'll discover.
We'll get creative.
We'll learn about the river, wildlife and landscape we're spending our weekend in with some brilliant people who know and love this area.
We'll be joined by ecologists and river enthusiasts Cody McFarlane and Scott Stoddart, Stewart Wilson β Tweed Valley Blogger, and Ingrid Campbell from Tweed Valley Wilding
There'll be good food from Cafe ReCharge CIC, water safety support from Borders Water Rescue Team with plenty of time for chatting and, naturally...
π© Some very questionable fancy hats.
You don't need to be the fastest swimmer.
Come and enjoy the water in a way that's right for you.
Come on your own or bring your swim buddies.
Stay for the weekend or come for a day and discover Peebles while you're here.
Mostly, come prepared to swim, explore, learn, laugh and live in the moment with a group of like-minded people.

πHarvest Wild Swim Festival π
Peebles - Scottish Borders
ππ Last October, something rather unexpected happened in Peeblesβ¦
We launched our very first Harvest Wild Swim Festival.
We knew what we'd planned. We just didn't know quite how much JOY would unfold.
There were swims beneath autumn skies, twinkling night swims, breathwork and riverbank walks. There were ridiculous hats, inflatables and a glorious dip beneath Neidpath Castle, followed by hot chocolate and Victoria sponge. π°π°
But mostly?
There was laughter. Lots of it.
Strangers became swim buddies, friendships were made and the good people of Peebles looked on curiously, amused and occasionally completely bamboozled by the colourful swimmers wandering around their town. π
It was a pilot. An experiment.
And it became a weekend bursting with friendship, connection and a ridiculous amount of joy.
So there was only one thing we could doβ¦
ππ This October, we're doing it all again.

Iβm one for keeping my head down & just getting on with the next task at hand knowing that the values & ethos of: be safe, be kind & be inclusive hold true in my heart.
But the positive comments have really overwhelmed me after the weekends swim.
It certainly has added a buzz to my day.
