Camelon Juniors 2017’s were invited to play Dundee Academy on Friday night up at RPC Dundee.

Both our teams turned up and put in a fantastic performance across all three games they had each. A great night of football and a brilliant experience for everyone involved.

What a performance from the boys today, and something they should all be incredibly proud of.

At times, the opposition’s approach to the game was disappointing, but what impressed us most was the way every single one of our players handled the situation. Despite taking some heavy challenges and being tested throughout the match, the boys showed unbelievable fight, determination and maturity.

Not once did they rise to it or allow themselves to get drawn into something that would take them away from the way we want to play football. They stayed focused, continued to play our game and showed tremendous character from start to finish.

As coaches, they couldn’t be prouder of how this group is developing. The attitude, togetherness and resilience they showed today are exactly the qualities that will help them continue to improve.

v Dunipace

This morning we welcomed Dunipace to Little Kerse in an early morning kick off.

We started the better team and played some excellent football early on. We lost our rhythm a little towards the end of the first half allowing Dunipace to come back at us but the boys responded brilliantly after the break.

The biggest positive for the coaches was seeing the boys listen to the instructions they were given and put them into practice. Every instruction given to each player was carried out superbly in the second half. The boys stepped it up to another level, controlled the game and took the chances that came their way.

It’s a great feeling for the coaches to be able to identify areas where the boys can improve, give them clear instructions, and then see them listen, understand and put it right on the pitch. That was probably the thing they enjoyed most about today’s performance.

Shout out to Captain Jamie today who pulled out some brilliant saves today! 🧤👏🏼
