If you are visiting us at Ebbisham Sports Club please be aware of the roadworks in Epsom and allow some extra time to travel to us.
š§ SGN Roadworks in Epsom
SGN have begun essential work to upgrade the gas network in East Street and Hook Road, Epsom, helping to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply for local homes and businesses for years to come.
As part of the project, ageing gas mains will be replaced with new, longer-lasting plastic pipes. The work started on 18 July and is expected to continue for around six months.
SGN is working closely with Surrey Highways, which will also be carrying out improvements in the area, helping to coordinate works and reduce overall disruption.
š What to expect
Traffic lights at the junction of High Street, Upper High Street, Church Street and the A24 will be reconfigured ahead of the main works.
From 23 July, Hook Road will be closed to through traffic between Woodstock Crescent and East Street.
Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place.
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained.
Epsom multi-storey car park will remain open and accessible via Hook Road throughout the works.
There will be disruption around Hook Road Car Park but there are alternative car parks.
š Find all council car parks on our website by searching 'car parks' or visiting: https://orlo.uk/JjejV

On 11th April from 8 in the morning to 8 at night Ebbisham tennis member Luka Jojic took up residence on court no 1 in his attempt to play non stop for 12 hours in a sponsored marathon - his final push to raise over Ā£3000 for African water-aid charity āDig Deepā and at the same time fund his attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in August.
A series of fellow club members, friends and family lined up to challenge Luka, paying handsomely for the privilege. Some matches were highly competitive, others less so, in particular when Luka battled it out with Robbie Crouch armed, not with rackets, but with frying pans!
A good crowd turned out to give their support, fuelled by Porky Whites sausages and burgers cooked on the barbie. At 8pm everyone retired to the club lounge for a grand raffle with prizes donated by local companies.
At the end of the day, Luka was delighted to announce that he had well exceeded his target for āDig Deepā and as a result was also able to donate Ā£100 to Ebbisham charity the āRoyal Marsdenā.
Well done Luka!
