GAME DAY!!

Tonight we host Carisbrooke in the quarter final of the FNWFA Cup. There has been some close games between the sides this season and tonight should be no differed. A wee taster of what is to come when the sides meet again in the Calum Riddell Cup final next weekend. Head down to Pinefield for a 6.45pm kick off to support the boys.

Now the league has come to an end, we can confirm our quarter final fixture in the AJ ENGINEERING FNWFA CUP. Its 4th vs 5th in the league and a preview of what's to come in the Calum Riddell Cup final the following week.

After securing 4th spot we have confirmed a home tie for the quarter final and will host Carisbrooke at Pinefield on Friday 28th August.

Full time and it ends 5-3 to The Jags. A well fought and well deserved 3 points to end the league with.

We started the game brightly and took a 1-0 lead when Simon held the ball up and laid it off for Stewart to drill under the keeper from just inside the box. The lead lasted just 6 minutes as Lossie broke (could have been a few yards offside) and made it 1-1. On the 40th minute they took the lead with another close offside shout but we have to take it on the chin. 2-1. We managed to equalise on 44 minutes with some lovely football down the right and Brandon sent his man to the pie shop and played it in for Simon who again did well to hold the ball up and lay it to Tommy to make it 2-2. Half time.

We regained the lead on 63 minutes when Stewart released Simon through who slotted past the keeper. (Our turn for possiblt being offside. 3-2. 2 minutes later and Tommy got his second of the game, a carbon copy of the third goal, Stewart played him through and he leathered it past the keeper. 4-2. Lossie then had some good play on 72 minutes which led to pulling one back. 4-3. 79 minutes and we are heading through on goal, no chance of missing (well its us so there was) and Stewart was mauled down inside the box. He made no mistake in converting from the spot, 5-3 and game over.

Tonight we play our final league match of the season as we head through to Lossie to face the Amateurs at Lossie playing field. We haven't faced each other since the very first game of the season where the home side ran out 3-0 winners. We will be looking to end the league with 3 points but know it'll be a tough game against an opposition who have had a strong debut season. Get yourselves through to Lossie to support the boys 🙌.

FULL TIME!

Finally back to winning ways with a hard earned result against a tough Riverside opposition. It took just 4 minutes for Zac to put us ahead after Tommy held the ball up, ran across the midfield and sent a pass out wide to Craig who crossed it in and Zac flicked a header in at the front post. 1-0. The lead lasted just 5 minutes as Riverside played a ball to their striker who held off the defender well before turning and his shot bobbled across goal past Dazzie, 1-1. Just before half time a Riverside player went down injured in their box so we played the ball out for them to get seen to. Sportsmanship didnt come into play as they threw the ball back to their keeper and decided to play on🤷‍♂️. It bit them in their ass as 30 seconds later we won the ball at the back and sent it forward to Rod who held off 2 Riverside players before sending a beautiful switch ball across for Craig Ellis it run onto before taking a touch and slotting past the keeper to make it 2-1. Half time. A quick sub as Simba is replaced by Stewart.

The second half started even quicker than the first as we took a two goal lead on 47 minutes when Rods drifted freekick into the box was met by Zacs head again and looped over the keeper. 3-1. 69 minutes and Riverside capitalise from a lack of communication at the back and make it 3-2. On 72 minutes we made a triple sub with Steve Shand, Tommy and Zac being replaced by Simon, Ferg and Lukasz. We created more chances yet in Elgin Thistle style we didnt take them, two favourites being Lukasz and Ferg both sending shots across to the other side of the pitch for a throw in😂. On the 94th minute we wrapped up the win when Simon headered in from 3 yards from a Craig Ellis corner. A well deserved and hard earned 3 points but we take it.
