Me last Friday:
“I wish I could go out dancing but it’s so hard to find the right place, music, people interested etc.”
24 hours later:
An invitation arrives out of nowhere to go dancing to music I love with fabulous people.
Me:
“Yeah but the couch and telly tonight would be so nice"
Also me:
“For goodness sake. You asked, you got, and now you’re thinking no?? You’re going. End of conversation.”
5 hours later I’m boogieing my heart out to Craig Charles in Belfast and fully living my best life.💃💃💃
Another example of the “someday but not today” drawer.
Thankfully I’m getting better at catching the thoughts that try to keep me comfortable.
I said yes when part of me really wanted the easy option of not this time but hopefully next time.
And I’m starting to wonder how often we all do this.
Not just with the big things.
The smaller things too.
And I'm talking about the things that sets our soul on fire, that feel so inexplicably right for us, that make us feel like we are glowing from the inside out.
The class.
The delicious nutritious food.
The night out.
The massage/body work.
The course you long to teach.
The trip.
The thing that your soul is aching for.
Instead we say:
“Not today.”
“Maybe next time.”
“Someday soon.”
So this week I’m getting curious:
What else am I casually putting off?
Telling myself not today but definitely soon (where definitely soon could become years!!!)
Maybe that’s a question for you too?
Amanda x
Ps I love this philosophy:
Staying comfortable now makes us very uncomfortable later but being uncomfortable now makes us feel very comfortable later.
But like everyone I'm a work in progress 🙂

I’m heading to the Camino in the coming months. Today I did some training in Loughgall and it was just magical, amidst the wild garlic and bluebells ❤️🌸🌼🌺
The Camino is something I have been longing to do and I could have left it in the “someday drawer"… but didn’t. It was time to make it happen. Flights booked and trail shoes bought!
In all my work I've become so aware how many women are putting things in the "someday drawer." Things that would light them up from the inside out 💫
So, I’m starting something alongside my walk — its not fully formed yet, but it’s about helping women stop delaying things that are good for their soul.
Feels fitting for the year of the fire horse 🔥🐴
I’ll share more as it begins to form.
What's in your someday drawer?
