Dunfermline U18s opened their National Conference 2 campaign at home to Dundee, with the visitors taking the win 64–29.

The squad has worked extremely hard throughout pre-season, with a number of players also taking on new positions as the team continues to develop. It was always going to take time for those combinations to settle, and Dunfermline started slowly against a well-drilled Dundee side.

Dundee took advantage of the early pressure, but Dunfermline showed good character to respond with two well-worked scores before half-time, bringing themselves back into the contest and giving the home side something to build on.

The second half saw Dunfermline fall away for a period as Dundee took control, but there was no lack of effort from the home side. Dunfermline finished the game strongly, scoring late tries and showing plenty of heart and determination right through to the final whistle.

There is plenty for the coaches and players to work on, but equally plenty to be excited about. With new combinations developing and the squad continuing to learn and grow, this group has a lot of potential as the season progresses.

A big well done to the boys for their effort and commitment, and congratulations to Dundee on a deserved victory.
