On Friday 17 October Swiis Foster Care Scotland held an Award Ceremony to recognise the talents of our young people, staff and carers for their many achievements!
182 staff carers and young people were nominated for awards to acknowledge achievements including learning to swim, taking part in plays and a wide variety of awards as well as the length of service of staff and carers where this was greater than five years.
It was a memorable day with each person receiving a certificate to acknowledge their achievements. All were offered the chance to have their photograph taken with their award, although many adults were a little camera shy!
Throughout the day we had the chance to view videos of some of our young people taking part in the activities they were receiving awards for – the Dynamic Youth Award, Sports Leader and Playmaker awards.
This was all in addition to a fantastic break out room where various fun activities were made available for our young people. These were provided by each of our regional teams and included cupcake decorating, making masks and model flowers and creating a dream catcher.
A huge ‘Thank you’ to those who provided the activities, to Conrad for presenting the awards, to Danni for the photographs, to the L&D Team who planned the event and to everyone who attended. We are already planning for our next event!
