⚽ Monifieth 2015s — Season Well and Truly Underway! ⚽

The season is well and truly underway, and over the past week the boys have played two very competitive games, edging both with fantastic performances. 👏

They continue to work brilliantly as a unit, taking on the tasks set by the coaches and embracing every challenge that comes their way. The boys are still very much rotating positions, adapting to different roles and rising to each challenge — exactly what we want to see at this stage.

We keep banging on about team spirit, but this group has it in bucket loads! 💙

Rhu is proving to be a real asset in the central midfield position and is showing fantastic leadership skills. A great example of stepping up and taking responsibility for the team.

⭐ Felipe Pinto
Felipe displayed exactly what early-years grassroots football is all about — happily rotating between defensive duties and stepping up to make some crucial saves between the sticks. 🧤

A massive well done to both boys! 👏

Keep up the positivity, keep working hard, and most importantly, keep working for each other. 💪⚽

Monifieth 2015s Sponsored Cycle! 🚴‍♂️

Today the Monifieth 2015s took a break from football for our sponsored cycle — and what an adventure it was!

There were wasp stings, punctures and plenty of wind to contend with, but the boys battled through and achieved their goal of cycling from Monifieth to the Dundee V&A and back. 💪👏

It was fantastic to see the boys supporting each other, as well as helping the coaches and parents over the finishing line. Teamwork at its best! ❤️

And, of course, being kids, they couldn’t resist the chance to cool off at the Urban Beach and run through the fountains! 💦😂

The day was rounded off with some well-earned ice lollies, hotdogs, a trophy presentation and, naturally, a bounce game of football! ⚽🏆

With the 9-a-side season about to kick off, it’s brilliant to see the bond this team is building both on and off the pitch.

Monifieth 2015s are going to be doing a sponsored bike ride from Monifieth to the V&A and back again. This will ne a test of endurance for the boys. If you can support the boys with a donation then this will alll be greatly recieved. All funds will go towards trips, equipment, kit and help support the boys in their development and journey through Grassroots football.

Monifieth v Dundee West.

The lads followed up last week’s performances with another strong showing from both teams.

In the first game, the boys dominated for large periods. What was especially pleasing, however, was how well they absorbed the pressure from the opposition when it came. Positions were rotated again, but the boys did not shy away from their responsibilities. It was a valuable team performance.

In the second game, the same determination was on display. The boys are clearly growing in confidence, learning to pass and move as a team, chasing down every ball, and working hard for one another. They are supporting their teammates well, filling in when others are caught out of position.
