On Saturday, club member Andrew tried out a slightly different type of rowing discipline and headed north to East Sands Beach, St Andrews to race in the Saints Costal Regatta. Despite the rough conditions it was a great day!
Equally, club member Ian has also been trying out some costal rowing, with a trip to Ardwall Island at Fleet Bay!

“Ingrams” - one of our mid-weight single sculls.
On September 4th 1865, 14 gentlemen met in Ingrams’ Hotel in Dumfries to discuss the beginnings of a regatta club on the river Nith. After discussion it was decided that the new formed club would be called the ‘Nith Regatta Club’. In 1890, the club’s name was changed to its current name Nithsdale Amateur Rowing Club.

🚣Derwent Head🚣
Eight Nithsdale members headed down to Keswick yesterday to take part in Derwent Head 2026.
All members took part in two races, each racing over the course of approx 3000m. Everyone throughly enjoyed the day of racing (and the views 🤯) and it will be a staple in our calendar for next year!
