❄️ Winter opening times at Hermitage Lock ❄️

A reminder to all customers that Hermitage Lock will move to its winter opening times from Thursday 1 October 2026.

Please plan your journey accordingly and check the opening times before you travel.

Salters Lode Lock

There is now a significant build-up of silt at the tidal entrance to Salters Lode Lock.

Unfortunately this means that we can no longer enable passage for boats over 62ft.

This restriction will be in place until further notice. Please contact the lock keeper for more information on 07398 822986.

(2/2) on the and the neighbouring reaches are now a lot clearer before efforts now move up to next week. W**d will be drawn through the sluices before being collected & lifted out by the harvester which should help the upstream reach currently heavily w**ded. *** END ***

(1/2) Soggy at times today but the harvester has been at work at on the , an . The is one of the few bits of kit that is able to pick up & remove floating duckw**d, pulling it up amongst cut w**d into its hopper before depositing on the bank. >>> Continued >>>

Our w**d harvester making its' way back up river passing through on the , part of the navigation network heading to & to clear more floating w**d and work with others at Brampton to make in the area easier.
