Dragons AllStars - Inclusive Touch Rugby

Back in May our team played a match on Inclusion Day at Rodney Parade, Ellys hadn't been with us long & on match day needed boots to be able to take part. Thanks to the on-site kit locker they were able to find him a pair there & then.

The community team said that if Ellys continued attending our Friday sessions for the next 4 weeks, that they would sort him out with some brand-new boots of his own.

And that's exactly what happened!

A massive thank you to Karen Hopkins from the Dragons Community team who visited us at training a couple of weeks ago to present our player Ellys with some brand new boots.

📢 Training Update 📢

With the warm weather & recent fires we want to make sure that all our players & families stay safe. Especially as we know many of you may be travelling from affected areas.

🏉 Training this evening at 6pm at Halo Cwmbran is still going ahead, however please don't feel under any pressure to attend. Your health comes first.

⭐ If you are attending this evening, make sure that you bring plenty to drink, we won't be running around too much but it is still warm.

🐉If you are asthmatic & use an inhaler, please make sure you have this with you.

Not long to go until we celebrate our 1st Birthday and Presentation Night all in one fantastic evening! 🐉💙💛

📅 Presentation Night: Saturday 12th September
🚪 Doors Open: 6:00pm
🏆 Presentations Start: 7:00pm PROMPTLY (please arrive in plenty of time)

🎟️ Tickets: £5 each
✅ Players are FREE
✅ Children under 5 are FREE

This is a family event, so bring the whole family along to celebrate everything we've achieved together over the last year.

There'll be player awards, special recognitions, lots of fun, and a few surprises along the way! 🎉

We look forward to seeing you at training tonight, remember to bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
As always we want to keep you all safe so there is absolutely no pressure to attend in this heat.
That being said we wouldn't want you to miss out if you would like to train, so if you are attending wear your SPF & wear appropriate outdoor sports clothing for warm weather. We will be taking plenty of breaks tonight & staying in the shade where possible.

☀️ A little note about tonight's session from the coaching team ☀️

Please don't feel under any pressure to come along if you think it's going to be too hot. We completely understand, and your health and wellbeing will always come first.

That said, we know just how much these sessions mean to so many of our players—not just for the rugby, but for the friendships, routine, confidence and being part of our Dragons Allstars family. Because of that, we'll still be running the session, but we'll be making a few changes to keep everyone as safe as possible.

If you're coming along, please:
💧 Bring plenty of water or other drinks to stay hydrated.
👕 Wear lightweight, comfortable clothing suitable for the heat.
🧢 If you have a cap and sunscreen, please bring and use them.
🩵 Most importantly, if you're feeling too hot, dizzy or unwell at any point, tell one of the coaches straight away. There is absolutely no pressure to keep going.

Tonight's session will be much more relaxed than usual, with lower-intensity activities, plenty of water breaks and time to cool down when needed.

As always, we'll keep a close eye on everyone throughout the session. Looking after our players will always be our number one priority.

If you're looking for a fun & inclusive Touch Rugby session for ages 7+ then come & join us Friday's 6pm-7pm at Halo Cwmbran Stadium
We have a Junior provision for ages 7-11 & a Senior provision for ages 12+ including adults.
Parents & carers are welcome to join in too ☺️

We are a mixed ability team with WRU qualified rugby coaches that have completed extensive inclusion training Disability Sport Wales so that we can support all players wanting to join in with sporting activities. All abilities are welcome & we can provide additional & tailored support if required.

Our coaches are DBS checked & some also have entry level BSL qualifications via Coleg Gwent.
