It is with great disappointment that we announce Glenavy Youth FC will not be continuing into the 2026/27 season.

For reasons beyond our control, the committee has made the difficult decision not to enter the team into league football for the upcoming season.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the club over the years – our players, volunteers, sponsors and supporters. Your commitment and dedication have meant so much to us.

A special thank you goes to the players, whose hard work and determination helped bring home the club's first-ever league title. That achievement will always be a proud moment in the club's history and is something that can never be taken away.

Thank you for being part of the journey and for the memories we have shared along the way.

Last night saw Glenavy Youth crowned league champions — a fantastic achievement for everyone involved! 👏⚽

A huge amount of credit goes to Alex and Stevie for all their hard work and dedication throughout the season, along with every single player who has given everything for the badge. Massive thanks also to this season’s sponsors for their continued support.

One game left to play, then it’s on to the end-of-season celebrations 🍾 before attention turns to building again for next season.

A promising start saw the lads take the lead through a fantastic terminator strike - great to have the big man back fit

Sadly though that’s as good as it got.. a fit well organised Glenavy Youth got into their stride after going a goal down and made amends striking back twice and taking the lead at the break. HT 2-1

Unfortunately despite the best efforts of all that turned up, the glenavy attack proved to be irresistible and it was actually a testament to those in purple that the scoreline didn’t end up a lot worse. FT 5-1

Despite the score, the match was actually brilliant fun to play in, Stevie and the lads are a really great group and were very welcoming - I am sure we’ll get another game to seek revenge in the near future!

The most important outcome of Sunday was of course our aim to fundraise for our nominated charity, Helping Hands Autism Support

We managed to put another £120 together on the day bringing our running tally for the season to £4314

We continued our strong run at the top of the league with an impressive performance against Bailee FC.

It was Davy Costello, who opened the scoring to put us 1–0 ahead and set the tone early on. We built on that momentum with a confident and controlled performance throughout.

was a standout display from our Man of the Match Kevin McKay as he marked his return from injury in style, finding the net twice to seal the win and cap off a brilliant team display.

A serious performance all round — showing our quality, determination, and consistency. We stay top of the league, and the run continues.
