🏆 SCRATCH TEAM CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What a finish! ⛳️

The Crewe Golf Club Scratch Team were victorious today in the NSDGL Jim Cumberbatch Scratch Trophy Final, defeating Leek Golf Club 3–2 at Congleton Golf Club.

It couldn’t have been much closer, with the match all square heading into the final game. The last match went to an extra hole, where John Kendall produced a moment of magic — sinking a 25-foot birdie putt from off the green to seal the victory! 🏆👏

A fantastic achievement and a huge congratulations to everyone who represented the team throughout the rounds.

Crewe Golf Club Pro Am Event🏆

Crewe Golf Club hosted its annual Pro Am competition yesterday. Despite some horrendous weather conditions, it was a fantastic day!

🏌️‍♀️🇬🇧 Proud to represent GB&I!

A huge congratulations to young Crewe Golf Club golfer Morgan Bollan, who has just returned from representing Great Britain & Ireland at this year’s Junior Vagliano Trophy at The Island Golf Club in Dublin.

Morgan was one of just six girls selected to represent GB&I against Continental Europe — an incredible achievement in itself.

It was an incredibly close contest, with GB&I battling right until the very last putt before Europe eventually secured the trophy 9.5–8.5.

Morgan made a valuable contribution to the team, winning her opening singles match against the Italian No. 1 and earning a valuable half point in the foursomes alongside fellow Scot Stella Walters.

Everyone at Crewe Golf Club is incredibly proud of Morgan and what she has achieved on the international stage. 👏

What a few weeks it’s been for Crewe Golf Clubs superstar, Morgan Bollan! ⛳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It all started at the European Girls’ Team Championship in Zürich, Switzerland, representing Wales. After a tough stroke play stage, Morgan went unbeaten in the match play, winning all 3 of her matches against players from Slovakia, Norway and Scotland.

Next came the European Young Masters in Spain, where 33 nations competed with teams of two girls and two boys. Morgan finished an incredible 10th overall, with rounds of +4, +2, +1, making her the highest-placed Great Britain & Ireland player, while Wales finished 13th overall. A fantastic week for the whole squad, and with Morgan still only U15, she’ll have another opportunity next year if selected.

It was then straight back to Heathrow before joining the Cheshire Ladies team for the National County Finals. Morgan won all 4 of her singles matches, including a dramatic victory in the final against Yorkshire that went to the 20th hole, where she chipped in after refusing to concede. An unforgettable moment as Cheshire Ladies became National County Champions for the first time in 30 years. A huge congratulations to the entire team and support staff on an outstanding week.

Next stop… Scotland! Morgan will represent Wales at the Home Internationals before staying on to compete in her first R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship at Craigielaw Golf Club.

We’re incredibly proud of everything she’s achieving and can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings. 💙💛❤️

🏆 Cheshire Senior Men’s Strokeplay Championship 2026 🏆

Crewe Golf Club hosted the annual .Golf Senior Men’s Strokeplay Championships.

Congratulations to Gareth Bradley (Bramhall GC), our 2026 Cheshire Senior Men’s Strokeplay Champion! Gareth adds a second title to his name, having previously lifted the trophy in 2019.

The Championship, first played in 1970, is a prestigious 36-hole medal competition contested over two days. The record remains with Roy Smethurst (Crewe GC), who has claimed the title an incredible 10 times, including six consecutive victories from 1998–2003.

Congratulations also to all our prize winners, including those finishing 2nd and 3rd, along with the Best Gross and Best Nett winners across the age categories.

A special mention to Robert Reid and Bob Walker (Crewe GC), who both claimed Best Gross honours in their respective age groups.

Finally, Cheshire Golf extends its sincere thanks to our host club for the outstanding hospitality shown to all players and officials throughout the championship. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support of County Golf.

Our thanks also go to Captain Steve Johnson and the members who generously volunteered as spotters around the course, and to Steve for joining us at the prize presentation.
