CPD Cei Connah Ladies Football

Yesterday we hosted Northop Hall Girls & Ladies FC in our final league match, ending 4-1 to Cei Connah.

Northop were quick off the mark with their runs in behind our defence and managed to score within the first 10 minutes. Our defence did a great job reading the warning signs and kept it tight at the back from then on.

We came back shortly after at 12 mins with a brilliant corner from Amber which ended up in the back of the net with a bit of help from Laura. Stacy then inevitably got her first goal 20 minutes in, assisted by Laura.

Second half started with keeper Louise starting outfield and scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes assisted by goal keeper Laura who sent it long to Louise, who was hanging off the last man.

Becca finished the scoring for the day when Louise found her in space 20 yards out from goal. A brilliant shot saw us lead and finish the game at 4-1.

This marked our final league game as league champions. It's been a fantastic season of growth, lessons - and wins 🥳

Everyone who played a part in this team throughout the season should be extremely proud of their achievement. Unbeaten all season in only our 2nd season together 💜

CPD Cei Connah Ladies hosted Mynydd Isa Ladies Football Team for their first ever game in the NEWFA Women's Recreational Cup.

The conditions were cold and the pitch felt heavy due to the constant rain throughout the night. That didn't stop the rivalry heating up on the pitch though. Both teams started strong with the goalies being tested early on. Chloe's shot was rebounded away by Isa's defender before our winger Leanne, gambled a shot which gave Cei the stronghold in the match giving us an early 1-0 lead.

The game continued to be a tough physical match with both sets of defenders being tested throughout the half. Cei's midfield proved that their strong link up play was paying off when Leanne assisted Stacy to give us a 2-0 advantage before half time.

The weather didn't stop making the conditions harsh but Cei continued to turn up the heat against Isa. Stacy laid off the ball outside of the box before Chloe rocketed the ball into the net to give Cei a 3-0 lead.

A special mention has to go out to Cei Connah's defence who were being tested alongside our goalie, but striker Stacy scored another 3 goals within 9 minutes to truly put the game to bed, with two assists coming from Amber and the last assist from Goalkeeper Laura, who had spotted Stacy on the run and kicked a fantastic ball over every player to give Stacy a chance to finish.

Every single player on the field gave their all in miserable conditions. What a win! 🔥💪

Tuesday night was a monumental occasion for CPD Cei Connah Ladies. With the stakes clear: three points to seal the league title in only their second year of competition. The atmosphere was electric.

The game opened with some visible nerves, as Hawarden started strong. They immediately tested the Cei backline, forcing goalkeeper Louise into several crucial saves to keep the scoreline level.

However, Cei soon found their rhythm through the wings. Leanne exploited the space on the left flank, putting immense pressure on the Hawarden defense. The breakthrough came when a calm, pinpoint pass from the Captain, Leanne found Stacy, who tapped it home to give Cei the lead.

Despite Hawarden’s smooth passing and dangerous counter-attacks, Cei stayed aggressive in their pressing. After Leanne saw a shot blocked, Stacy reacted quickest to reclaim possession and drill the ball into the bottom corner, sending the team into the break with a 2-0 lead.

Cei maintained the pressure, earning a string of corners. Defender Terri came inches from adding a third, with a powerful header just skimming over the crossbar.

The momentum stayed with the home side as Stacy shifted out wide. She delivered a perfect square ball to the edge of the box, where Chloe unleashed a clinical strike into the back of the net to make it 3-0.

The scoring was rounded off following a brilliant run by Deryn on the right wing. Her searching cross caused a scramble in the box, which Stacy navigated expertly to curl the ball into the bottom corner, completing her hat-trick and a 4-0 victory.

The result confirms that Cei mathematically cannot be caught at the top of the table, securing their first-ever league title. The team took a moment on the pitch to celebrate their achievement. 🏆

Today we were hosted by Isa ln a very cold and windy Sunday afternoon. 🥶

Cei Connah Ladies played their first match of 2026 — and what a banger it turned out to be.

Mynydd Isa took the lead early in the first half with a well-taken strike. Becca then equalised for the Dockers, before super striker Stacey stepped up and scored twice before half-time to put Cei 3–2 ahead at the break.

Both teams battled hard in the second half, with Cei creating multiple chances to extend their lead. However, Isa showed great resilience and managed to pull the game back to 3–3.

After further Cei chances went begging, Isa then took the lead and attempted to slow the game down in search of the win.

But Cei had the final say. After a quick throw found Stacey in the dying seconds, she turned her defender, ran through on goal, and finished brilliantly to earn Cei a well-deserved point.

Cei Connah travelled to Brymbo to face Coedpoeth United FC Women, who currently sit second in the league table.

The game kicked off on a sunny but chilly day. The pitch conditions proved challenging for both sides due to the heavy, claggy mud.

The opening minutes were evenly contested, with a slow start as both teams assessed each other, leading to equal chances for either side.

Cei Connah took the lead when Amber broke away on the right wing, delivering a perfect ball to Stacy, who seamlessly slotted it home to give the away team a 0-1 advantage.

With both teams matching each other in physicality, Coedpoeth soon levelled the score. A low shot found the back of the net, pulling the game back to 1-1.

Cei Connah continued to press with their attacking style of play, which paid off when Stacy was tackled in the area. She then coolly stepped up and converted the resulting penalty, putting Cei back in the lead at 1-2.

Coedpoeth pushed hard for an equalizer, but Cei Connah were awarded a late free-kick. Becca stepped up and struck a powerful shot that sailed over the wall and into the back of the net, securing the victory with a 1-3 win.

Cei Connah walked away with all three points after their well deserved win. 💪🔥
