Pendle Lifesaving Club is a recreational club for those interested in swimming and lifesaving skills.

It's an important part of Swim England and Royal Lifesaving Society mission to ‘prevent drowning’ and ‘promote physical activity’ in swimming.

🛟Our Pendle Lifesaving Club is part of Swim England and Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK's mission to teach young people key survival skills, first aid, CPR, and lifesaving rescues.

With sessions at all 3 of our Pendle swimming pools, it's the perfect way for kids who love swimming to build confidence, gain leadership and communication skills, and a great addition to your CV too!

🛟 We're looking to expand our Rookie Rescue Skills at Pendle Wavelengths with more spaces becoming available.

Developed to complement Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK's Rookie Lifeguard programme, Rookie Rescue Skills is designed to provide lifesaving skills for SEN children who may otherwise be unable to participate in a lifesaving programme. The programme teaches Rookies self-rescue, survival, and simulated emergency response (rescue) skills in a way that can be adapted to suit their needs.

✅If your child is aged 6 years + and has completed the equivalent of Swim England Level 3, this program could be for them!

🎓 📄 If you’re turning 16 this year, and participate in our lifesaving sessions at Pendle Leisure Centre then we want to support you in getting prepared for employment with CV top tips, and application form advice.

This support group will be at
📅 Friday 18th September 7-8pm at Pendle Leisure Centre

There will be other support groups scheduled throughout the year so dont worry if your unavailable for this session.

Pendle Lifesaving Club provides young people the opportunity to join the National Lifesaving Academy pathway which introduces candidates to new physical lifesaving skills, techniques, persistence, committment and confidence to become future lifesavers.

Following the completion of the programme and being awarded with the prestigious Bronze Medallion Award, candidates can gain additional points towards their Duke of Edinburgh award by completing the distinction award, young leaders or their NLA Lifesaving assistant awards. 👑 🏕

These awards are well recognised in the UK and internationally as an outstanding pre-requisite in the leisure and tourism industry and provides amazing summer experiences as well as future career opportunities 🌎

The RLSS UK National Lifesaving Academy awards are a suite of progressive awards that teach personal survival, first aid, CPR, rescue, and fitness skills to anyone aged 12 years and over. 🏊‍♂️

The awards are structured to teach foundational skills and then progressively build up the candidate’s skills. On achieving the Bronze
Medallion level of award, the candidate receives Recognition of Prior Learning hours towards the RLSS UK vocational lifeguard qualifications. 🛟

We offer a wide range of training awards and vocational qualification. 🛟⛑️

These include:

🟢 Emergency First Aid at Work & First Aid at Work with blended learning options available.

🟡 The RLSS Swimming Pool Emergency Rescue Award. This a water rescue competence certification designed for ancillary staff working in facilities with small pools. It trains "on-call" competent staff—such as receptionists, spa therapists, or hotel workers—to respond to swimming pool emergencies once an alarm is raised. It is explicitly tailored for facilities where continuous poolside lifeguard supervision has been deemed not required.

🔴 National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).🏊‍♂️ 5 day course with both swimming and dry practical for anyone aged 16 and over who aspires to be a pool lifeguard, or wishes to renew their existing qualification.
