Blackball Rules – clarification following the AGM
A point was raised at this year’s AGM suggesting that only team captains can view the Blackball Rules. I’d just like to clarify that this is not the case.
The South West Sussex Pool League website has the Blackball Rules available for anyone to view. The league website currently states that the league plays under the Blackball ruleset.
The official Blackball Rules poster can also be accessed directly here:
Blackball Rules poster – RackEmApp
The rules document is publicly accessible and contains the full Blackball rules, including the rules covering the break, fouls, deciding groups, continuing play, the black ball, etc.
For anyone who prefers to use RackEmApp, players can also ask their captain to register them on the app. Once registered, the Blackball Rules section is available within the app, as shown in the attached screenshot.
So, to be clear, the rules aren’t restricted to captains. There are multiple ways for players to access them themselves, either through the South West Sussex Pool League website, the publicly available RackEmApp rules document, or through the RackEmApp player account.
I thought it was worth clarifying this following the point raised at the AGM, so that players know they can access the rules themselves rather than having to rely solely on their captain.
