A massive congratulations to Smithy on being named our August Player of the Month! 👏⚽️

Smithy has made some brilliant progress between the sticks over the last month, and it’s been great to see his confidence growing week by week.

🧤 His positioning is improving, he’s getting himself into better positions and reading the game more effectively.
📣 He’s becoming more vocal and starting to communicate more and organise those in front of him.
🧱 Important saves by pulling off some big saves when the team has needed him.
⚽️ His distribution is coming on, becoming more confident with his kicking and getting the ball moving quickly.

There’s always plenty of work going on in the background and still things to work on, but the improvement he is making is great to see 💪

Keep working hard, keep learning and keep believing, Smithy! 👏🧤

Bolsover Town U9s vs Thurcroft Hubstars Green

Tonight we welcomed Thurcroft Hubstars Green to Moor Lane for the first time, and our opponents gave a really good account of themselves. They played some lovely football, were physical, and kept the game competitive throughout.
Our players were zoned in from the very start, flying out of the blocks and creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities. We managed to take a few of those chances, but Thurcroft responded with goals of their own to keep the game interesting.
At half-time, the message was simple: match their physicality, keep working hard and, most importantly, keep playing our football.
In the second half, we again started brightly and continued to create chances. There was some really lovely football on show, with the players moving the ball quickly, finding space for one another and working together as a team.
A big well done to all the players for their effort, attitude and football tonight. 👏⚽
A huge thank you to Thurcroft Hubstars Green for coming to Moor Lane and making it such an enjoyable game.
We wish them all the very best for the season ahead. 🤝

⚽️ MATCH REPORT | Bolsover Town U9s v Staveley Miners Welfare ⚽️

Today we played a new team for the players in Staveley Miners Welfare, and what a game it was! 👏

The message from me today was short and sweet — believe in yourselves, move the ball and work hard for one another.

Both teams played some fantastic football, defended really well and both goalkeepers made some brilliant saves throughout the game.

In the first half, we looked to do exactly what we’d spoken about. We created chances and some really well-worked play saw us go a few goals ahead, but Staveley never let us rest. They kept working hard, scored some good goals themselves and made it a really entertaining first half.

At half-time we were honest with the players and told them we wanted more of the same — keep playing as a team, keep moving the ball and keep showing for one another.

The second half was again a great advert for U9s football. Both teams continued to create chances, attack and test both goalkeepers. The goals kept coming for Bolsover, but huge credit to Staveley who worked relentlessly hard right until the final whistle and scored some themselves.

One of my personal highlights today was a really well-worked team goal. It started with a strong tackle, we worked the ball forward, played some lovely one-twos and finished with a goal. I genuinely don’t think the ball left the grass! 👌⚽️

That’s what we love seeing — players working for each other and playing football the way we know they can.

A massive well done to both teams today. Plenty of goals, plenty of effort and some really good football from both sides. 👏

We wish Staveley Miners Welfare all the best for the season ahead and hopefully we’ll see you again soon! 🤝⚽️
