Discipline will always beat motivation.

Putting off even the smallest tasks can lead to disorder. Follow these simple rules to build a disciplined lifestyle:

1. Start the day right: Make your bed, it's an easy win first thing in the morning and putting it off is saying laziness is ok. It is not OK!

2. The 2 minute rule: Any task that will take less than two minutes, do it there and then. Put your keys away, rinse the cup, put your clothes in the basket not the floor.

3. Mess is ok, dirt is not: Especially true for parents! Those toys being everywhere do not matter, the plates and food, they matter. If you spot dirt. Clean it. There and then. It's drives productivity.

4. Earn your downtime: Before you sit down, do the chores. Clean the kitchen, fold the clothes, wipe the sides. At first you'll feel like you're wasting valuable chill time, that will drive you to follow the other rules so there is less to do at the end of the day.

5. Take a day: Being disciplined is hard at first. Take a day to reward yourself, have a lazy day. It keeps it more sustainable and as you progress you'll naturally want less lazy days.

Before you know it, you're in a routine that keeps you healthy and happy. Mentally and physically

What helps you stay disciplined?

I had to wear a coat to the gym!!!

Hands up if you're one of the weirdos still out running in this 💪🙌

When I started training, I couldn't afford a PT and online coaches weren't a thing. But back then the people in the gym were willing to give up their time to offer advice and even a spot to the new guys and girls.

This is my way of giving back to the community thats shaped who I am 💪

Send me your programmes, your videos, your diets. Whatever you need help with!

I want everyone to have the opportunity I had to succeed in their fitness goals!

New to the gym? Read this first 👇

1. Go with a plan
Walking in with no direction kills confidence and motivation. You don't need anything complex when starting, a basic plan can keep you focused. Think 'KISS'... Keep It Simple, Stupid

2. Don’t be afraid to ask
Unsure how a machine works, need a spot, whatever it may be, ask. Everyone there has had the same questions at some point, most people are thrilled to help.

3. Leave your ego at the door
Train for progress, not attention. Good form beats big numbers.

4. Never interrupt someone during their set
Seems simple but wait until they’re finished. It shows your respectful and they'll be more likely to help out.

5. Rest is just as important as training
Can not stress this enough! You grow when you recover, not when you’re lifting. Adequate rest between sets and active rest days.

6. Put your weights back & respect the gym floor
Gen Z I'm talking to you here! Treat the gym space like your own home, respect others and tidy up after yourself!

7. Perfect isn’t sustainable
Don't chase the perfect workout, the perfect diet. You'll miss days, you'll have cheat meals. What matters is you keep turning up. Over thinking will take away any joy

Save this. Share it with someone starting out.
