A fantastic weekend of international judo for two of our Welsh referees! 🥋

Ashley Bowen and Wendy Allen travelled to the Venray International Judo Tournament on 20 & 21 June 2026, representing Welsh Judo on the refereeing team at this prestigious event.

Great to see Welsh officials gaining valuable international experience and flying the flag for Wales on the tatami. Well done both! 👏

It’s received a lot of interest, people are keen to share their stories.” 📈

We recently caught up with Thasan Yoganathan (Samurai Olympic Judo Club) to discuss how he is using judo skills to help the wider community. 🥋

After completing the ‘Finding Your Feet’ coach education course, Thasan has been delivering balance and fall prevention sessions to parents at Cardiff Judo Academy, staff at Cartref Ael Y Bryn Care Home, and even running online presentations to share these crucial skills. 💡

A huge thank you to Thasan for his brilliant work! 👏
