🩵MATCH DAY 1🩵

We’re back in action this week as we host Eynesbury Rovers Reserves. A big test for us to start off life in this new league with a big response to last season. The boys have put a lot of hard work in and even though we haven’t had a lot of pre season games, we’re confident we can input our hard work in to the game 💪 back in Swavesey for the first time in a couple of years, so get down and support the lads 🩵

P.A.Collacott are having a charity football match in honour of our former player Dan Evett. Last year lots of money was raised for MIND charity and this year are set to break that total. Come down and show your support to f you can, there will be a raffle going on with some really good prizes up for grabs 🩵

Tonight we face off against Great Paxton in a pre season friendly. Some slight changes in the squad, which is expected this time of year, but these lads have been putting in some hard work at training and are looking to cement their place in the team. Should be a good test, can we right some of last weeks wrongs!

Congratulations to Bar Hill, who finished 3rd after last night's play off.

A very quick turnaround for the lads, with our second game of the Ken Garner cup tonight! A few alterations to the squad, bringing in some fresh legs, but we know we need to bring a little bit more discipline and get control of the game for longer 💪 come down and support the boys, should be a good evening and a good game 🩵

A tough loss tonight against a strong Longstanton side. Bit of a shaky first half and we struggled to get forward and show our best. We held out and started to move the ball well through the midfield, until an unfortunate own goal saw us 1-0 down at the half. We started the second half really well, moving the ball through the midfield and finding ourselves on the attack constantly. A nice ball through from Dan Jackson to Sam Hitchins, who came bursting through from LB. A good touch and a well took goal to tie things up. Although we kept looking for a winner, we found ourselves getting tired legs and causing some self forced errors. 2 penalties conceded in the final 15 was unfortunately the nail in our coffin. Really pleased with the performance the boys gave and good minutes against a good opposition. On to the next one 🩵

Next week the boys are in action as we take on Longstanton FC in the first round of the Ken Garner competition. Will be a tough test first out against a newly promoted side, but we’re hoping our hard work will put us amongst it 💪 all support is greatly appreciated, come down and cheer us on with a beer 🍻 ☀️
