It’s nearly friday, which means one thing: Hatters FC are back! ⚽️🔥

​We’re closing out our pre-season this Friday as we take on a familiar foe, Vernon Vets. They’ve taken comfortable wins in our last two meetings, so we know we’re in for a proper battle under the lights.

⚽ Hatters FC vs Sir Tom Finney – Pre-Season Review

Hatters FC went into this game looking for another pre-season win on home turf, and they got off to a fantastic start.

From the first whistle, Hatters looked organised, composed and hungry to attack. They pressed forward and it wasn’t long before the opening goal arrived. A dangerous corner was whipped into the box and Daz Mitchell rose highest to head Hatters into the lead.

Hatters continued to push and soon doubled their advantage. A free kick from the left was delivered perfectly into the box, where Danny Grady rose to head home and make it 2-0.

The pressure continued before half-time, with Izaak Wilde finding the back of the net to put Hatters 3-0 ahead.

However, Sir Tom Finney weren’t going to give up. They pulled one back with a fantastic strike from outside the box before winning a soft penalty shortly afterwards, making it 3-2 at half-time.

Hatters regrouped at the break, knowing the game was far from over. They came out in the second half determined to create some breathing room and two more goals followed, with Mike Berry and Mark Jenkins both getting on the scoresheet.

The second half was end-to-end, with both teams battling hard and unfortunately picking up injuries along the way. Sir Tom Finney managed to grab another goal before the final whistle, but Hatters held firm to secure a 5-3 victory.

It was another excellent performance from Hatters FC in what proved to be a real test. Once again, the entire squad gave 100% from start to finish, showing the determination, teamwork and togetherness that has been evident throughout pre-season.

⭐ Man of the Match – Mike Berry

A brilliant performance from Mike Berry, who scored one and provided two assists in just his second game for Hatters FC.

Mike was relentless throughout the game, constantly working for the team and making a huge impact at both ends of the pitch. A fantastic individual performance and a thoroughly deserved Man of the Match award.

Another win. Another strong team performance. Another step forward in pre-season. 💪⚽
