Very proud day in the Winslow Fitness household yesterday as James & Gracie tacked the Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth - 1.2 mile sea swim, 56 mile hilly bike ride followed by a half marathon along the sea front 🏊🚴🏻🏃🏼‍♀️ They were both absolutely brilliant, but special kudos to Gracie for tackling the challenge at only just 18, posting a top 20 swim time, and fitting all her training in round her A-levels - she is amazing 🤩

This morning she heads off to uni in Manchester, so both daughters at uni up north 😁 All classes are on this week - I’ll need to keep busy as Evie heads back to Durham on Saturday 😭☺️❤️

Some of you might know that my lovely big sound system was recently stolen from the Public Hall in Winslow (though the fact I hadn’t had it PAT tested for a while gives me a little bit of schadenfreude 🤣🤣)

Being the awesome & kind person she is, the amazing Alex S co-ordinated a go fund me to help replace it which was so kind of her, and I have been blown away by how many people donated to replace it ☺️☺️☺️ Such a kind and generous thing for anyone to do, particularly when money is so tight these days, so thank you so much to the following wonderful people: Alex S, Alex R, Angie, Louise, Danielle, Mary, Annette, Steve, Linda, Vanessa, Elaine, Eleanor, Sam, Sarah, Ashleigh, Chloe, Lisa, Gemma, Jo and two other anonymous donors.

We now have banging tunes on a new brilliant loud speaker and my DJ skills can once again reign supreme 🪩💃🤣🎤🎶- (also the new speaker is portable enough that I can take it home again so no thieving ****holes can steal it again!)

Thank you once again - what a wonderful bunch of people you all are ☺️☺️☺️☺️

Tuesday: 9.15am Tone & Moan 💪🧘
7.40pm Fitness Flow (Calvert Green) 🧘

Wednesday: 10.30am Chair yoga 🪑🧘
6pm kettlebells 🏋️💪
6.50pm Fitness Yoga 🧘

Thursday: zoom classes (members only)

Bumper turn out for our first Seated Strength & Stretch session with a fabulous 18 attendees - thank you all for coming, was great fun and harder work than I thought 🤣 (in a good way!!) Looking forward to doing it all again next week ☺️🪑🏋️

Very excited about our first Seated Strength and Stretch class starting on Monday! 🪑🏋️🧘

Perfect class if you’re new to exercise, returning from injury/illness or just find getting up and down from the floor a bit of a hassle 🤣 We’ll work on building upper & lower body strength, core work and balance, as well as flexibility - all while using the chair 🪑 If it’s half as much fun as the Chair Yoga gang on Wednesdays, it’s going to be awesome ☺️☺️☺️

Geordieman 70.3 triathlon relay with James & Gracie yesterday- so much fun! Gracie stormed the swim with one of the fastest times of the day - sadly james & I pulled us down the rankings almost immediately on the bike and run legs 🤣🤣🤣 but overall we still placed pretty well and had a brilliant time! Team Simons rock!!

All classes on as usual this week except tonight is St Laurence Room for Fitness Pilates only - we have to be out by 7.30 so no Dancefit 😭

Hey gang!

All classes running as usual this week - hurrah! Looking forward to seeing you all ☺️

We still haven’t found my big speaker - it looks like someone must have taken it from the public hall 😭😭😭 If anyone suddenly hears loud music blaring from their neighbours or see it crop up on marketplace, do let me know! It’s sad to know someone has helped themselves to my equipment 😭 (& also extremely inconvenient and potentially expensive 😡) but luckily we have a temporary workaround for the time being.

Starting September 7th!

Seated Strength & Stretch, Mondays 10.30 at the Winslow Guide Hut

Following on from the success of Wednesday’s awesome chair yoga, we are expanding!! Monday’s class will bring bands, weights and balls to use alongside the chair to improve strength and co-ordination, as well as flexibility work at the end of the session.

Suitable for everyone, but particularly those who want to build and maintain strength in later life to help stay as mobile, strong and healthy as possible so you can carry on doing all the things you love!!

£7 per session - let me know if you’d like any further info. Spread the word!!

All classes on as usual this week - another sunny week of chat & nonsense & exercise - hurray!! 💪🪩🕺🧘🏋️

Also watch this space for a NEW CLASS on Monday mornings coming from September - partially-seated, using small equipment (bands, balls etc) ideal for those wanting a gentle class which helps to build strength, balance and coordination without any impact or getting up and down off the floor ☺️ The perfect session for building fitness for life 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Just shout if you want more info!
