One of the simplest jobs that gets neglected time and time again.
Unfortunately there was no saving this one so it had to be cut out.
What makes it worse is most of the factory parts are unobtainable even second hand is rare.
Never fear what we canât make fit we can make.
Suzuki dr 500 swinging arm bearings absolutely solid, it came in for new shocks but if the sw***er moved freely it would have felt a lot better on the back for sure.

Been a while since I posted anything but we have been busy here in the workshop.
Yz 400 in for non start
Found play in the main bearings, leaking crank seals, worn reeds/block and the carb rubbers both side cracking or broken.
Cdi was intermittent causing starting and running issues
Full bottom end rebuild, piston and rings all in spec.
These yams are getting difficult to get bits for now especially the 78!! What a headache itâs been, the 79 parts are completely different (reeds, block and rubbers) so had to wait 6 weeks for them to be made in America.
Honda 76 engine in for reassembly, few parts missing and piston supplied was to small for the bore as damage has made the bore larger then piston supplied but we sorted it nicely.
Xr 600 in for twin conversion and nx 650 lump to be fitted, never the same spec and things always change but good fun never the less.
For carb in for an ultrasonic clean and new gaskets etc, very dirty inside needed this a while ago.
We build
We learn
We try and make things better
Thanks for all your support and custom

Some work on this week in the shed.
Xr 600 for a 650 transplant, new wiring loom air/battery box, cr500 front end and finishing off with new rear yss shocks hopefully (if customer is fit from injury) will be riding at martins town.
Yz 400 in for starting issues, spark is great but has more play in the mains the wanted, full strip down to find most bearing sound angry!! And big end gone.
Honda cr 125 76 in for assembly, customer had it at another shop for a year and only assembled the cases but on a quick inspection there is still the old sealant on the surfaces, why would t you remove/clean all before reassembly? So customer has asked for it to be taken apart and checked over.
And finally an engine delivery for an on going conversion.
Happy to help with any inquires.
Savage!

Hi all
So I have said so many times about how important it is to have a clean air filter, oiled correctly and most of all fitted correctly.
Unfortunately this hasnât been the case for this customer and has led to an engine removal, head off and some work on the inlet valves as these were coated in the dust.
A simple maintenance action is now going to cost a few quid.đ

Another conversion has come into the workshop this week. Customer has some special parts that he wants on it.
Looking forward to this one and to see another on the track like my first conversion.
More pics on progress to follow.
