Were you ever told “don’t get old”?
I heard it constantly growing up. Older people rubbing their knees, wincing, looking at you like they were warning you which ankle be feel really sad for them and the pain they felt. And I also thought - but what’s the alternative, die young? 😅
But now I’m in perimenopause I think I understand what they were describing. And I think it’s time to get on that prevention.
So women can lose up to 20% of their bone density around menopause. Muscle mass starts declining from our 30s and accelerates as oestrogen drops. The aching, the stiffness, feeling less capable all that stat to occur.
There are lots of ways to build strength and bone density - climbing, reformer pilates, hiking, resistance training to make some. I’ve chosen weight training with the incredible .
I put a shout out on Instagram offering a dance class swap for personal training and she stepped forward which made me VERY happy. She specialises in women over 40, completely gets your body, meets you where you are and there is absolutely none of that go hard or go home s**z, nor has she got me counting any calories or touched my diet. We’ve been chatting for a few years now and connected over Palestine so when she offered to train me I was freaking over the moon.
She comes to you, goes outside, whatever works.
Also recommend Christine , .strength and and many more. Choose somone (or something!) that understands you and your bodies needs. Your future self will thank you!
We were never meant to get smaller as we get older were we. Let’s get strong! But also keep dancing, you know why that’s important don’t ya?! Don’t make me go on about that right now.

Our first Wild Bop was a roaring success and we intend to many more. 🌿
Different places, different times, different session lengths and always a very carefully curated musical journey. Sometimes themed, always magical.
Here’s the format: we arrive and ground together, set an intention, cacao may be offered, some breathwork, some stretching and then we dance. Freely, with headsets on, to music that will move you in all sorts of wonderful ways. We come back together at the end for stillness and a short meditation.
Monday morning was so beautiful. Everyone left with so much love in their hearts and that’s exactly what this is for.
We are doing weekly at St Anne’s wells 6.30-7.15am from 20th July (do come join, link in bio or message me to join the WhatsApp).

JoyBop at Hove Lagoon has shifted to 9.30am every Friday. Perfect post school run or before your day begins. The most lush way to spend a Friday morning.
ONLINE SESSIONS - End of an era 🌿

Yessss a morning rave at ☆ SAUNADELIC ☆ Well of course!
Next Friday come and join us: dance, sauna, cool off, repeat. Music carefully curated by us. We’ll start with some breathing and stretches, then set you free to dance.
Only 16 tickets available, sauna will be on rotation in groups of 8.
Zen meets joy… joy is zen.
Leanne and I went and tried out the gorgeous wood fired sauna last week and can report we both felt so heavenly and relaxed, and floated through the rest of our days. Especially with the lovely Faye’s ice bomb of essential oil magic.
We do Joybop (guided) dance class every Friday at 9.30am, which will be on too. We’re making a morning of it!

Our first Wildbop is next Monday 6th July, 6:30-7:15am at St Anne’s Wells.
We start with a heart opening cacao, a gentle stretch, then headsets on for a beautiful musical journey to encourage you to move in any way your body feels to, followed by meditation. What a glorious way to start the week.
If all goes well we’ll be doing this regularly. 🫶
