What an incredible evening ⚽️
On Wednesday 3rd June, 32 players stepped onto the pitch at the Amex Stadium to take part in a charity football match organised by Sussex Good Causes FC and the brilliant Jamie Westley, all in support of WOLO.
We want to say a huge thank you to Jamie for the time, energy and dedication it took to bring this event together. Giving people the chance to play on such an iconic pitch while raising money for local families affected by cancer was something truly special.
Together, the players have raised an incredible £9,000 including Gift Aid 🔥🔥
To put that into perspective, that amount will enable WOLO to support eight families for an entire year, helping them access practical support, wellbeing services and community connections when they need them most. WOLO currently supports more than 200 families across Sussex affected by cancer.
Our very own Sam attended the event to personally thank the players and share just how much their fundraising means to the families we support.
As a small grassroots charity with a team of just five people, community fundraising plays a vital role in helping us continue our work. Whilst we focus on supporting families through cancer, people like Jamie and everyone who took part help us reach further and support more families than we could ever do alone.
To every player, supporter and donor who contributed to this fantastic event, thank you. Your kindness, generosity and effort will have a lasting impact on families facing some of the toughest times of their lives.
