Whitestar enter self destruct after dominating the opening 28 minutes, creating chances and holding nearly all the possession, a series of mistakes once again costs us conceding 3 in 12 minutes.

This left a mountain to climb in the second half and we tried to dig in. A tidy turn and finish from Lennon Kerry got 1 back but we couldn’t get any more chances converted.

The effort was there however we were our own worst enemy again today and paid the price.

A very very disappointing day on the road for the first team. A mix up at the back, a woeful penalty decision, a deserving red card and the rest writes itself. Another 70 minutes with 10 men which simply leaves us with very little hope against a well drilled Wyke side.

Credit to the lads who stuck at it and got a consolation goal in the second half through Will Beresford assisted by MOM Harris Khan unfortunately the climb was too steep from very early on.

We re group and look to put things right next Saturday.

Whitestar Res 4 - 0 Burley Trojans

The performance we’ve always been capable of happened last night against a competent Burley FC.

A change in formation but the same lads showed it was always there, we just needed to show it. Goals from Joe Sunley and young Danny Kerr in the 1st half set the scene and Whitestar grew into the game.

2 more goals in 2nd half from Tyreece White and Aaron Vaughan from the spot confirmed the dominance. Whitestar kept their effort and concentration throughout the game on came out deserved winners for the 1st 3 points of the season. No reason this shouldn’t continue and we climb the table to where we belong.
