Our managers thoughts on today’s 1-0 away victory over Maybole 💭

“Glad to come away with the three points today, but it was a frustrating afternoon if truth be told.

Defensively, I thought we were comfortable for the majority of the game, but the number of chances we passed up was disappointing.

That’s no disrespect to Maybole. I thought their team played some nice football and worked extremely hard for one another, but from our point of view, we need to be much more ruthless in front of goal and kill teams off when we get the opportunities.

It’s something that has crept into our game over the last few weeks. We’ve been creating plenty of chances but not taking enough of them, and we know as a group that we need to improve on that. If we want to achieve what we believe we can this season, we have to be more clinical in those moments.

That being said, it’s another important three points on the board and we keep the momentum going.

We now take a break from league duties and turn our attention to two cup ties over the next couple of weeks, where the aim is simple — make sure we’re in the hat for the next round of both competitions.”
