Today we travelled to Kader looking to make it three wins from three to start the season.

The weather played a massive part in the game, with the wind battering matches across the North East all weekend, and today was no different. Kader adapted to it well early on, looking to use the long ball in behind for their quick striker, and after he was brought down in the box they took the lead from the penalty spot.

Going 1–0 down seemed to wake us up. From that point, Coundon kicked into gear, started getting the ball down and began playing some really good football despite the conditions.

The boys battled brilliantly, showed plenty of character and scored some fantastic goals on the way to another big win.

The standout performer today was Jenson Wright. To come away with 3 goals and 3 assists in those conditions was some performance and earned him his first Man of the Match award of the season.

Well done kidda — keep it up. 💚🤍

Coundon & Leeholme U15s 5–1 Ferryhill U15s

Today we welcomed Ferryhill U15s to the Field of Dreams on a windy, blustery day.
After just the first minute, we found ourselves 1–0 down following a mix-up in defence. But the lads didn't let their heads drop and soon came alive, playing some great football.
Mick was outstanding in midfield, controlling the game and playing some fantastic passes out to the wings. We eventually got ourselves back level at 1–1 with a goal from Leo, while Cobie was proving to be a nightmare for their full-back, constantly running at their defence.
We went into half-time level at 1–1.
The second half saw us step it up another gear, with our midfield outstanding throughout the game. We made it 2–1 after a great run and some brilliant skill from Tyler down the wing, allowing Cobie to slot the ball home.
Cobie then went on one of his trademark runs, won himself a penalty and calmly slotted it away to make it 3–1.
At the back, Harry was exceptional, scooping up everything that came his way and tackling like prime Vidic.
We soon made it 4–1 with a goal from a corner, before Reece finished things off with a fantastic strike to make it 5–1.
Overall, an amazing performance from everyone. The lads worked hard, played some great football and deservedly grabbed another 3 points.

MATCH REPORT 🟢⚪️
Today we welcomed Darlington Young Bulls to the Field of Dreams, and we started the game really well, on the front foot. We could have easily gone 2-0 up, hitting the bar with a great shot.
Then came the dreaded ball over the top, and we found ourselves 1-0 down. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again, giving the opposition a 2-0 lead.
After that, the lads finally switched on and started using the wings. Cobie came alive,got us back in the game with a goal then producing his trademark runs and causing the opposition all sorts of problems. He went on to win us a penalty and calmly slotted it away to make it 2-2
We kept pushing and got ourselves back into the game, with Cobie completing his hat-trick to make it 3-2. 🔥 Luke looked solid in midfield alongside Mick,
From there, we looked a completely different team, with some great link-up play from Grace, Henley and Cobie. Cobie went on another trademark run and won us another penalty. This time he handed the ball to Henley, who stepped up and calmly slotted it away to make it 4-2. ⚽️
We were in control, but once again the dreaded long ball over the top caused us problems and we couldn't deal with it, making it 4-3 with only a few minutes remaining.
The lads then showed great character. We started playing the ball around, closing the gaps and defending really well to see the game out.
Elijah also had a really good game for us today. 👏
💯 TEAM EFFORT TODAY WAS 110%!
Every single player grafted, battled and worked for each other, and in the end we got the 3 points we deserved.

Riverside Juniors 0–3 Coundon & Leeholme

Another really strong performance from the lads today and a deserved 3–0 win away at Riverside Juniors.

We opened the scoring through Jenson, who produced a fantastic finish into the bottom corner. The goal came after some brilliant work from Brax, who battled well in a 50/50, kept the move alive and the ball eventually dropped perfectly into Jenson’s path.

Cal then doubled the lead with some excellent movement, reading the situation brilliantly and latching onto a long ball from Cole before finishing the chance. What started as a half-clearance into a dangerous area ended up giving Cole his first assist in Coundon green 👏

We kept pushing and Kieran made it three with another fantastic finish into the bottom corner after an inch-perfect pass from Myles put him through.

Riverside did have a few half chances during the game, but anything that came our way was dealt with fantastically by our captain Ste, who was calm and reliable throughout to help secure another clean sheet.

A really good all-round team performance, three goals, three different scorers and a clean sheet to go with it. Plenty to be pleased with. 💚🤍

We are on the lookout for a couple of players still to join our u14 Sunday team now confirmed to be in TJFA division 3, team have been champions every year since starting and are capable of holding there own in the top division easy. There is opportunity for plenty of game time over the season plenty of tournaments etc, players are a cracking group and parents alike. Will consider high level u13s Mick Fieldson

Kids have been seen on top of the pavilion roof up Leeholme recreation ground, I know a lot won’t see this but if they do or get relays back to them. The roof is nion 20 years old there’s a big chance that it will damage very easily or even cause a big accident for whoever is up there not been a massive Karen we’ve all been there but when that’s damaged it affects everything ourselves and Coundon cricket club are trying to do just be mindful 👍🏻👍🏻
