Meet the Players!
Next up, is the first of our new signings, Molly.

Molly has fitted into the squad seemlessly. She's been played in most positions in our pre-season friendlies, but is most suited to a more defensive role, and could fit in as a CDM or across the backline.

We're excited to see her in competitive action next week.

Tonight we travelled over to Kineton to play a pre-season friendly.

We won't be posting details of the match itself, out of the respect to a nasty injury to a Kineton player.

We wish her a speedy recovery.

We'll meet Kineton later in the season in Division 3. We wish them all the best for the season.

MEET THE PLAYERS!
Next up is Kelly.

Kelly Ewings joined us last summer, and can play everywhere across the back line, as well as a defensive midfielder.

Despite her stature, she's arguably our best header of the ball, and has made many a goal-line clearance from corners.

She's combatative, always gets stuck in, and one of the best readers of the game.

This may be her last season as a player, but we're keen to get her to move into coaching and stay within the Chelmsley family if she does hang up her boots.

MEET THE PLAYERS!
As we fast approach the new season, we'll be introducing our squad for the 2026/27 season, and first up is Jodie.

Jodie joined us in March and made an instant impact with 2 goals on her debut in the friendly versus Tividale. An injury curtailed her season, but she's back to help us in our bid for promotion.

Jodie is arguably the most versatile of our players, and could literally play everywhere on the pitch for us - she's even our reserve goalkeeper!

AFC Chelmsley Ladies 1 Coventry Godiva Womens Blues 4
Yesterday saw us return to the Onward Club for our first home pre-season friendly over the summer.
We were blitzed in the first 20 minutes by Godiva who took a quick 3 goal lead - two carbon copies of us not clearing our lines quickly defensively in the middle, and then a cross-cum-shot which looped into the far post.
We made a triple change at the first hydration break, and all of the three game-changers had a positive impact - Darla was communicative in marshalling the defence, Kelly shored up the right back spot, and Taylor was disciplined as a CDM.
We managed to pull one back before half-time with a well worked goal starting from Elle, through Jodie, and then Trin crossing for Jade to nod the ball in at the far post. HT 1-3.
It was stalement for the next quarter of the game, with a nasty looking injury to Lacie, who hopefully will be back soon. In the final stages, we went three at the back in search of a goal, leaving us vulnerable to the counter, and Godiva got a fourth to kill the game. We had a couple of late chances to make the scoreline closer, but were ultimately beaten by our defensive display in the opening 20 minutes. FT 1-4.
We wish Godiva Blues all the best for their season in Division 2. We'll meet their White team later in our season in Division 3.

Players of the Match were all our substitutes - Taylor and Kelly joint winners, with Darla a close third.

2026/27 FIXTURES ARE HERE! 📅
Our Birmingham County Women’s League Divison 3 fixtures have officially been released for the 2026/27 season.
We will be travelling to, and welcoming to the Onward Club, some new opponents, and some familiar names.
We're all eager to hit the ground running and can't wait to get back to competitive action.⚽

🏆 LEAGUE CONFIRMED | 2026/27
The wait is almost over. Our league for the new season has officially been confirmed!
AFC Chelmsley Ladies will compete in Division 3 of the Birmingham County Women's League for the 2026/27 campaign.
We opted for a double relegation, having been bottom of Division 1 last season, with the emphasis on a complete rebuild - focussing on our footballing philosophy and ethos, stripping it back to the basics.
Yes, a lot of our players have been retained, plus some new (and old faces) - see our socials over the next two weeks for more info. 👀
We know from last season that each and every point will have to be earned. We'll take one game at a time and nothing for granted.
We'll always give 100% in each and every single week, and be competitive for every ball, every 50/50, every tackle.
Pre-season has been about building the squad, getting to know each other, developing our style and preparing ourselves for the challenge ahead.
We still have a few pre-season friendlies to tune the finer details, but we will get there.
