Family holidays are basically 20% sightseeing and 80% deciding where to eat

There is something humbling about realising how little you know about the world outside your own bubble

There was a time when travelling meant packing nappies, snacks, spare clothes and everything else I thought four children might possibly need.
Somewhere along the way, they stopped being little people I had to organise and became people I get to experience the world with 🤍

As a mum of four, one of the things I’ve learned is that every child needs time where they feel like they’re your only one. Sometimes all it takes is an hour of your undivided attention to remind them just how special they are 🤍

I think we’ve all had those moments…
Something wonderful happens and our first instinct is to reach for our phone.
These days, mine is a little different. I like to sit with it first, enjoy it quietly, thank Allah for it & let it become part of my life before it becomes part of my story.
Maybe that’s one of the quieter changes that comes with getting older, you realise that not every beautiful moment needs an audience.

I think we spend so much time worrying about whether our choices make sense to other people, when really, they only need to make sense to us 🤍

Some of the best changes in life aren’t the things you gain. They’re the things you’re finally able to let go of 🤍

One of my favourite things about the summer holidays is how the routine naturally softens. Without the usual school runs and packed schedules, the days seem to unfold at their own pace. Breakfast happens whenever everyone eventually makes their way downstairs and most days, instead of sticking to a plan, we decide what we’re doing as the day goes on.
Some days are filled with plans, while others pass by quietly at home. I’ve realised it doesn’t really matter which kind of day it is - both have a way of feeling like summer 🤍
