Mattias Leidhammar has sent this brilliant message to all Blues Women supporters. Enjoy & KRO.
🔥 TOMORROW IS FINALLY THE DAY! WSL IS BACK! 🔥
After a loooong wait, it’s finally time for our Birmingham Women to step out onto the pitch again – and what a start we’ve got! 😮💨💙
Manchester City away – the reigning league champions and one of the toughest opponents imaginable. Then Brighton at home next weekend, followed by Chelsea away on 19th of September.
Three matches against teams expected to be right up there near the top of the table when everything is decided in the spring.
But you know what?
We’re ready. You’re ready. WE ARE WSL. WE ARE BOLD. WE ARE BRAVE. 💪
Because what really shines through when you look at this squad is the energy, the joy, the togetherness and the pride. There is something special about this group – and that feeling will definitely be worth a few extra points along the way. 😉
And we supporters also need to remember one thing: this is a completely different reality from last season. From WSL2 to the best league in the world. The pace, the opposition, the stadiums, the pressure – everything is on another level.
So yes, we’ll be nervous. We’ll swear. We’ll jump up and down. We’ll sing until we lose our voices. 😂
But above all:
WE STAND BEHIND YOU. ALWAYS.
We’ll share your joy and celebrate the wins just as much as you do. And when things go the other way, we’ll be angry, sad and disappointed together with you.
Through thick and thin.
From the first minute to the last!
And speaking of through thick and thin…
I personally hope that all the “real supporters” will keep posting positive things throughout the season, regardless of the results, so we don’t have to see and read negative posts, comments and opinions about our players, staff, coaches or Birmingham as a whole.
The energy we put into supporting the team this year should be positive and positive only, so that the feeling of a united Birmingham can be seen and heard everywhere! 💙
And just like you have your own little private pre-match rituals – which boot gets tied last, which leg the shin pad goes on first, and all those other things that absolutely must not be changed – I suspect we supporters have our own rituals too.
It could be anything from how we butter our toast in the morning to which hand we hold the key in when locking the front door. 🤣
Because on matchday, you can never be too careful.
So whether your preparation is scientifically proven, completely ridiculous or something you refuse to admit even to yourself – we’re doing it together. 😂
After such a long wait, we are finally back in the WSL. ❤️💙
And I really hope there will be plenty of us making the journey to Manchester tomorrow to stand behind our stars.
I’m already on my way today! 😎✈️
Good luck tomorrow, girls!
Play with joy. Play with pride. Play for each other.

COME ON BIRMINGHAM! 💙
